Slow and low!
Hey folks, took the cover of the timing belt for a look as I'm due to change it this week. I've noticed there is exposed cord/wire on the side of the belt in different parts and the top of the belt is very shiny.
Is this an obvious indication that the timing belt needs changed? Or a pulley problem? Or just general normal wear? Never really seen it before as I normally get my mechanic to do them.

Any help or advice would be great.

Just looks like a normal used belt.

If you're changing it in a few days, just be sure to change the whole kit and not just the belt; water pump too, if it's driven by the timing belt.
