Welsh man, Gwyndaf Evans is to compete at the forthcoming Meteor Electrical Titanic Super Special Stage on Sunday 27th February.

Evans, who is no stranger to rallying in Northern Ireland, announced this week that he looked forward to competing at this unique event in Belfast: “I have always enjoyed my rallying in Northern Ireland, not only has the standard of competition always been extremely high but the welcome great. The Titanic Super Special Stage is a unique event and with only rear wheeled drive cars competing it should be a great day out for both drivers and spectators.”

Evans has previously competed in a number of local competitions including the Ulster Rally and Lurgan Park with the Seat Team. Evans spent eight years of his early career as a works driver with Ford and in 1998 joined Seat, however recent years has saw Evans closely linked with M.G.

“I am thrilled that Gwyndaf Evans can join us for this Super Special Stage in Belfast. Gwyndaf fully understands how difficult it can be to get a drive at WRC level so I really appreciate his support”, said Niall McShea, 2004 Production World Rally Champion.

“Not only is Gwyndaf a very capable competitor, but he is a true gentleman. It is great for clubmen in Ireland to have the opportunity to compete against drivers of this calibre in similar cars,” continued Niall.

The Meteor Electrical Super Special Stage is a tribute to Enniskillen man Niall McShea following his recent Production World Rally Champion. Proceeds of the event will contribute to his drive for 2005.

I went last year and thought it was pants, there was hardly any action and felt the cars were wasted on the track that they had laid out, not worth £20 a ticket!

At least it will all be down to drivers skill at this one the mk2's are what started it all off......and imo if you have a 260+ bhp MK2 tuned to the balls on a full hang its well impressive.the old cars may not be just as rapid but they are more entertaining and sound great too!

Has anyone been down to view the track yet as it's supposed to be a better set up than last time, which was rubbish? :?

We all got in on a guest list for FA last time but there's no interest from the same guys this year so doubt I'll be there!
