They look like a right laugh, I'd love one but its a bit small, ideally need something like the Corolla, think they'll do a GR version of it?

I'm fairly sure I've seen several mentions of a GR version of the Corolla with the same engine and drivetrain, or engine at the least.

Not sure if it's been binned though

Can't see it, I'm surprised they even got the Yaris approved - wide-arch rally-style hot hatch isn't really a huge market requirement for Toyota at the moment.

Unless they switch to Corolla for their WRC car base I don’t think there’ll be one. Doing well getting the Supra and Yaris so far.

There was an 'autoexpress' article last year about a potential Corolla GR for 2023 ( i assume Yaris GR popularity will determine whether it happens or not or is just Autoexpress spouting keek)

The mate collected his today. Totally in love with it. Said the noises the turbo makes are class, said everything feels great and very direct and mechanical except the steering which is a little numb being electric.

He likened it to his Boxster S and Impreza STI having a love child 😂

Not sure if it’s been posted in the past but the TOM’s kit is just absolute perfection.

Is it fair to say this is a cult classic out of the gate.

In the same vein will residuals hold strong like say a Focus RS?

Should I even be posting here, exige gone, 6 series gone, having notions about a Yaris. Crazy thoughts.

Best thing to do would be to get a drive in one. That’ll make your mind up either way.

Yes, buy it if you like it and then drive it and enjoy it. No point buying a car just hoping it will be an "investment".

It's not a limited edition car, they will make as many as they can sell. So it won't be rare in that sense.

It's a bit of a specialist car. Small and not as practical as an ST or GTi for example. More of a track day toy or weekend B-road rally weapon. So market might be small for it.

For something more practical the Hyundai i30N is superb too. Much the same vane as the Yaris. If they ever make a 4wd version of that then it will be a killer 😁

Who the flip knows, stick your finger in the air and see :innocent:

I'd love one myself as a second car/occasional track toy. It should have huge tuning potential for that.

But wouldn't want to take the first owner hit.
