As much as I didn't want to accept it, with wanting to keep the car registered for the road I was going to have to install some kind of MOT-able Handbrake system

I've left it removable from the tunnel and a small body coloured blanking plate can be installed when its not being used.

The Cables are borrowed from a Westfield kit car due to its short length, Running the cables required the boot floor to be stiffened, again another fairly big job to get it working properly.

Tabs also welded to the Axle to restrain the Cables.

The important Handbrake Lever was next.

Hybrid of a couple of bends on 25mm pipe, a turned down adaptor and an Ebay Gearknob! should look the business painted up black.

That second last pic with the fab work, sequential, handbrake, cage and steering column made me fizz a little inside. You certainly aren't doing things by halves! Really enjoyed reading this, can't wait to see it finished. Great job.

@Simon998 it has been a vision for quite some time & it has evolved a lot from What started out as 'install a cheap modern V8 into a classic shell.'

It finally feels like the end is near!:party:

Tractive gearbox and its linkages are just such a nice piece of kit!

My Gear lever looks like it has been through the wars a little, priced a new one last week.. £495 :worried:

This one will do fine, but must take more car of it and wrap it up this time!

It appears to be anodised, I might be hard to match, but maybe I could have the whole lot done!

You could speak to John Brolly to see what options are. Might be able to strip and re-anodise it or something.

Or although it was years ago I had some small parts done....if there are people here who work at MB/Langford, they do a lot of anodising of parts and can do proper hard anodising too vs just colour.
As to how accessible that might be is another matter.

Then One Out & The other should be slotting its way in Today or Tomorrow after a few bits are tidied around the engine bay and RH Manifold is modified slightly to give more clearance on the Starter motor.

That's an impressive work rate, fair play to him, I hope he does well out of it. Great to see someone who loves what they are doing getting the recognition and rewards for it. (y)

Exhausts modified to Clear the starter motor, it wasn’t touching but more clearance from a heat point of view was best.

Also collected my Epoxy primer from Blair’s Bodyshop, the guy doing the final blast on the shell is going to apply it.

They had it tinted with Ford Race Red, which looks like a great colour, pretty excited to see it all with a coat of Red in the next 4weeks!

serious progress being made on this mate........ and expensive as it is.... as the sort of average hourly you are talking is 2-3 times (at least) cheaper than it would be on the mainland........ we are lucky here in that there are talented guys prepared to work for a wage rather than trying to make big profits/feed limited companies etc....
