Oh absolutely, hindsight is great and all that (y) We've all been there, up to our neck in something that seemed a good idea at the time 🙃

Last nights work,

Getting there with stripping the wax.

Spoke to the blaster today and he said to leave the soundproofing film on it so the push is on to finish the rest of the black mess in the tunnel and driver side 💪🏻.

Bit of an update,

Shell is now finished bar the underside of the boot and looking pretty fresh so I’m happy.

So it’s now more or less ready for blasting.

Lifting the shell back down tonight onto trolleys on the floor, to move around easier.

Blaster says he can take it early November and that should work well with the fabricator so we’re getting there finally.

Ordering a skip to get all the crap out of the garage and repaint walls and floors.
Hope to have the lift sorted while it’s away getting the work done too so it’ll be a nice environment to start rebuilding.

R

Been a long time coming,

But started to get the buzz now that everything from now on is clean and new putting back together.

Just the colour to also finallly decide on, which is still very much up in the air over the last while.

Alan is a top man, very accommodating and he actually got his first look at the shell and said there’s no need to blast the inside which is a bonus.

Hopefully have it back within 10 days and then for paint and a bit of arch/sill metal work.

Yes, he is going to epoxy it. I must say I took inspiration from your “TR” posts and decided to use him after reading/seeing yours. 👍🏻
looking good. Id bet you're over the moon getting it away to the blaster

Definitely lad, have space in the garage now.

Yes Ruari :grinning:

Be good to get it on the road for next year

Lol next year is a wish if I’m honest, but while it’s away I’ll try and get a lift sorted to work on it properly when it comes back.
Hope the new gaff is going well 👌

He'll be done by Christmas at that rate, then you have the holidays to just bolt the bits back on 😁

Taking bets for the number of bits left at the end with nowhere to go? :innocent:😅

Lift it in the morning and looking forward to seeing his efforts.

Alan has sent a load of pics and messages about different parts of the car explaining the process and its been first class service.

All being well I’ll have the lift installed before Tuesday and get it up onto that for a good look.

I’m hoping early January for it to go and get the repairs done, (arches and sills sorted at the back, and epoxy’d/primed/painted), and then start the fun stuff in the new year.
