To quote Hugh Grant - "bugger, bugger, bugger" but at least you should have an even better car at the end. Keep us all updated.

New forged engine! I thought that was next year...... When it's going!

What’s the point in getting it mapped, then having to strip it and build it to then to do it all over again? I’ve an engine being collected, forged bits in the post, a mechanic sitting ready to drop them in when they arrive.....then I can get it mapped at whatever boost I want. It won’t be long!! 😂

Dammit! Beat me to it lol I was going to buy that engine for exact same reason! Might just keep the engine I have, rip it out and forge it. What rods are you going for?

I’m going for Maxpeeding rods, ARP studs and bolts with new rod bearings and pistons rings. I believe the standard pistons are good for 300bhp so at that stage (or before) my turbo is the limiting factor

Good call (y) that’s exactly what I’ll be using too. Around 230-250bhp will do me, it’s more torque I’m interested in. Pistons are indeed good for around 300.

I started to strip the new engine today of all ancillaries. I can already see that this engine came from a car with much less miles - it should clean up really well!

I then made my way to @PeteMoore at Brookfab to have him chop up my new £250 radiator - the bottom outlet would have fouled on the steering rack so we blanked it off and repositioned it diagonally and out the side.

Well, when I say ‘we’, I sat and watched as Pete did his thing!

Fair play to you - looking forward to seeing how this goes!

Good to meet you today too (y) Next time you're talking to Pete tell him I was asking about him, haven't seen him in years!

Good to meet you too mate - thanks again! The engine stripped down nicely - looking forward to building it and getting it fired up!
