i dont think the mounts are different, ford will not have bothered to change the chassis for the newer box, but i think the prop shaft could well be diffo, looking at some photos, the prop shaft eminates from behind the shift lever on the type9 and forward of the shift lever on the mt75.

Is the mt75 not 4wd? You would be better with the borg warner from a RWD cossie instead. As for fitting, i don't have a clue!

Propshaft is defo different. I think the mount is swappable though

T9 uses a slip yoke in the rear, MT75 has a bolt on shaft.

Not really sure if the MT75 would be classed as an upgrade though ? Nothing much wrong with the T9 that is improved with the MT75.

Pretty sure MT75 has rwd, 4wd and fwd applications. Might be different letters attached to the name though. MTX75 is a fwd variation I think.

yeah mtx75 is FWD and 4WD (used on the RS 2000 and RS 2000 4x4 to suit the transverse engine) I knwo some Escort Cossies are converted to RWD, but i'm not sure if they used the mt75 box still.

mt75 (as found on twincam sierras) will not fit in place of type 9 afaik, can't really see the advantage of an mt75 over the type 9 as the type 9 is practically unburtsable

Virtually all Ford small engines ( mostly 4 cyl ) have the same bellhousing bolt pattern. So pretty much any engine will bolt to any box.
Just sorting flywheels and clutches and propshafts is required.
