Volvo V50 fob stopped working

So, fob for my 2008 Volvo V50 stopped working as in setting the immobiliser, remote locking etc. As you would, I have replaced the batteries and didn't help. I dropped the fob up to Mr Magic auto spark who tested the fob and it seems to be working fine, but thinks the car is not receiving the signal. So looking for the receiver module and online is not help at all.

Anyone any similar experiences or opinions before it bring it to Volvo with a tub of lube?

I have tried a lot of simple things to try and sort it but feel free to add your input below.

Had the same recently on a S40, original fob can’t be reprogrammed even by Volvo, New fob time and only Volvo can do it, £200 ish.
