Having bother with a vibration coming through my car. On checking out the wheels for movement, I noticed the driverside front was showing movement when moving back/forth.

I thought it was the inner tie rod was worn but once I had it stripped and removed the boot, I could see movement in the rack. When I turn the wheel lock to lock the movement is gone and there is no movement on the passenger side.

I assume my rack is ****ed or is there any adjustment that can be made to the rack itself?

You sure it ain't a wishbone bush or likes?

Honestly, I’m crap at diagnosing faults but I can physically see movement in the rack (driverside) that I can’t see on the passenger side. I don’t see any other movement anywhere and it looks to be a fairly basic suspension setup.

Bottom wishbone was changed a couple of months back.

Could be a track rod .. threads into the rack and has a ball joint that can wear

That’s what I originally thought until I removed the boot and seen the rack moving back/forth 2/3mm with little effort
