VW component protection - coding?

Not a massive VAG fanboy, so don't know what is possible without ODIS, but recently landed myself with a mk7 golf. The front ACC radar vanished and i need to replace it. Can anyone tell me if i buy a new radar will it be plug and play after calibration, or will it have component protection enabled, the same as a used part would?

My understanding was that component protection was only enabled after first configuration.

They need set up with a laser, hard enough to do.

@pobmk4 can do it as has ODIS etc to complete job.

What about Walsh Motors or Belfast service center? Both not VAG specialist?

not yet, but think theres a place in lisburn can sort me out with the ACC radar coding and calibration for £240.

seen that, i got sorted with one off ebay for same money, thats the right part number too. fitted an all, just needs coded and calibrated... yay
