Hss hire them out as I've done it before.
Thought it was clean useless tbh but it worked eventually.

You'd be at that for a day solid with the wee stumper.
I'd also get the chainsaw to that a bit more as it would save a lot of time

I used Gascoigne Garden and Tree Services recently, his stump grinder chewed through my two stumps in no time.

The one I hired was absolutely dire. You could spend a weekend and not have that away.

I think the problem is hss won't change the teeth on them. Without new teeth it's useless

IIRC he said comber, not 100% sure. He took down about 20 very, very tall conifers right to the ground for about £600, started @ £800 and I let him talk himself down a bit

No idea, he took down 2 full trees so the stump grinding was just part of the whole cost.
He said each tooth on the grinder was £10 so I can understand why a hire place might not replace them very often.
