The owners might put off potential buyers come re sale. But as you say there are plenty to choose from. I don’t think you would need any more room than an f10, they are a big car.
Another one.....
Need something that will happily fit the family in and a pram etc. on long journeys, and is comfy and quick;
I thought I was dead set on a BMW E70 M50d and I'm still very much tempted by them but I just want to step back a second and check I've considered all the options
Also toyed with the idea of a e90 M3 saloon, but although it would be great to drive I don't like pushing any car when I've wee ones in the car and on the longer drives I think an X5 is a nicer place to be
Maybe RS4's but I'm not sure what year would be in that range
Think your totally missing my point.its the ones that “can’t afford” to have them I’m referring to but have them regardless.if your saying you don’t know anyone like that then we live much different lives .
There's a general thriftiness around the country that is so hard to understand to me. I live in Dublin with 2 lads from Tyrone and you want to hear them complaining about the price of things or saying how good their dinner was cos it only cost them a 5er.
I don't get it at all, enjoy yourself a bit when you can imo
The e90 m3 would be a good shout. It can be easily driven like a family car. In fact it drives like a family car and only opens up when you ring it’s neck, any spirited driving is purely intentional in an m3.
X type bmw’s are SH1T
Would an m5 not be horrendous to fuel and maintain .work colleague has a x5 petrol v8 which goes fantastically well and sounds unreal with a set of pipes on it but it’s like 10mpg lol.good tyres which they chew in no time are a clean fortune
High performance cars and mpg should never be said in the same sentence .if you gonna worry about fuel buy a diesel one instead surely .The F10s seem to be okish on fuel, must be with being newer and turbocharged, driven sensibly a couple of my customers get high 20's early 30's out of them. Maintenance though wouldnt like to be putting brakes on one lol

As for servicing, the E63 went to Creevy Autos, as did all my previous Mercs, for comparison the E63's last service was £206.
Agnews would probably have been £400 - £500 I guess.
That's not bad at all, which model?Agnews Portadown aren’t bad to pay, my last service was £209+ vat. It also keeps a main dealer stamp in the book which the English seem fussy about especially on amg stuff, despite every man on the street knowing the specialist probably does a better job.
Tbh the e90 m3 is the best of the bunch, by a brave bit.
A 3 Series BM is hardly spacious nor special...
Being put off by a car that “non car people” would see as anything interesting or special such as the E70 is daft too IMO if it’s what you like. £25k isn’t a small amount of money, so spend it on what you want and not what other people will see it as, unless of course keeping up appearances/succumbing to vanity are what sway you when buying a car, in which case start a poll and go with the masses...
Very true, if you were keeping up with appearances you wouldn’t buy an e90 m3, you’d buy a Range Rover sport......or something similar.....
