Best one yet
Believe it or not we had one exactly like that, different shade of green maybe.
Only bought it for 1 week until we got a car sorted, I blew it up ha ha

We’ve had this ours for over 5 years now. Genuinely think Colin McRae’s spirit takes over me every time I drive her too. She gets staged down every backroad in the country and will simply not fail on me no matter how hard I try. Best car I’ve ever owned.

Squeezing 3/4 days into 1 post...

Bought a 2011 Saab 9-3 1.9ttid Turbo Edition on Wednesday evening. Managed to buy it as a trade sale but has a folder full of receipts for work carried out, same owner since 2012, etc so hopefully nothing major to worry about.

The car hadn’t been prepared for sale so Friday was spent deep cleaning the interior - cif and a scouring sponge for the beige bits and some AG Interior Shampoo for the rest, before dressing with AG Vinyl & Rubber.

Also fitted 2 new dipped beam bulbs - Ring Xenon 150. Has to be the easiest car to fit bulbs to - there’s even part of the screen wash reservoir filler that just lifts out to provide access.

Started into the outside - Anachem Articulate, Snow Foam and Gleam, followed by Tarminator. Clayed with Megs. 2-stage machine polish - megs 105 + 205 on Rotary.

Unfortunately rain halted play today, so I still have Naviwax to apply and all the trim to clean/dress.

Wee bit more stripping and got the belt off. Finally found a use for that Mickey mouse puller I bought about 10 years ago for loosening the cam wheels.

The belt was actually dead on and everything looked to be in good shape... but sure might as well plough on!

Just need to pull the hydraulic tensioner arm off and the water pump. Couldn't be arsed today - had the Jag to sort too so.only gave it an hour or so.

The truck had a wee turn today, I removed the massive useless ugly breezeblock strobe lights and fitted nice new slim line ones, they are really bright now, gonna stick two flat led beacons on the front of the cab eventually

Wee spin out across Spelga Dam with @quattro Rick

Never thought that the C63 would feel slow, he has ruined it for me 😂 That RS6 moves like nothing else I've been in, the torque is relentless! And the noise 😍

Definitely enjoyed getting to hear the downshifts off yours tbh, I can't blip down to 1st anymore as it's bad for the box but was unreal for noise.

Pity it was a crappy day, still was a good wee run out! 👍

Pulled the thermostat housing and found the edge had a piece missing so have to wait for a replacement to come in. Glad I checked it because it would be a right bollocks to put it altogether and then it end up leaking. Fitted new waterpump, hydraulic tensioner and idler and two engine mounts as well.

Also replaced the cam cover gaskets. The right side was in some shape! Spark plug bores filled with oil and all. The lying sod that sold me the car said they were done 😂 ^o)

So can't do anything now until new housing arrives (and also the mount on the front there needs done). Longest cam belt change ever lol

A4 2.4 V6. Was going to pay someone to do it but decided to just do it myself. Thankfully I've all winter so taking my time and doing an hour here or there. Quite enjoying myself if I'm honest!
Looks complicated enough! Thought it was VAG alright.
Good luck!

It's handy enough. The cam pulleys are floating so the cams themselves (and crank) are locked and I just need to clamp the pulleys once I've set the belt tension. Tools for it was only £20

I think it was either done wrong last time or more likely the belt has stretched. It was roughly a tooth and a bit off. This is the crank mark with the cams aligned (when I was taking it all apart). Hopefully it'll go a bit better with the new belt on.
