Installed the dashcam I bought in Nov 2018 :joy:

The moment you think '**** it I'm this far along now' 8o|

Fed the cable for the rear camera nicely in through the wiring loom cover from the boot to C pillar. Quite neat if I do say so myself :yum (must clean that rubber!)

Thankfully there's existing clips to hold the existing and new new wiring neatly in place behind the A pillar and feed down in behind the dash to the fuse.

Tidy work @DaddyC , what cam setup is that if you don't mind me asking? Need something for the wife's new car, looking forward to seeing the footage when we're back on the road of all these other at-fault maniacs she seemed to encounter on a near daily basis! :-#

I've had a Nextbase 512GW for a few years and can't fault it, bar wanting something a bit more discreet and have been looking at ones like yours with a rear cam too. Will decide then if she gets the new one or if I move the 512 to her car.

@garyo thanks muchly. The cam is an Aukey dr02. In 2018 it was rated one of the best bang for buck dual cams. I think someone on here reviewed it also back then which is what put me onto it. It's been discontinued mind and there's a newer version in place but a bit more expensive.

I know what you mean about other drivers, esp once we get more on the road after not driving a while 8o|

Cheers for that mate, the first ones I was seeing in that style on Amazon were Apeman, which didn't ring any bells so was wondering if they were some sort of replica crowd to be avoided, and that was steering me back towards Nextbase for familiarity. Will look up Aukey now though and see what their current range is like.

There could be a few people out of practice alright, but given my wife's write-off track record it'll be interesting to review all these incident reports she comes back with where she did nothing wrong! 👀 The dashcam could end up straining us more than lockdown!

Cured the curse of the mk4 with vented discs. 2 new calipers, supplier couldn't get the powder coated ones back so sent plain ones. So far that's Bilstein dampers, Eibach springs, new front and rear top mounts, droplinks, bumpstops, polybush ARBs and polybush rear axle mount bushes. Not to mention the drivers side tidied up, bootlid and front and rear valances painted. Just wheels needing refurbed now.

Another little job ticked off for the Civic. Pulled the rear arch liners out to see if there was any rust to deal with and was pleasantly surprised. Just a little bit to do in the same spot on both sides.

In the process I cleaned the liners and sprayed on some ware repellent stuff from Autoglym. Not expecting anything from it, but sure if it lasts a month, it's better than nothing.

Went on to degrease, wire brush and paint the arches, under the boot and repainted the calipers while I was at it. Had some help from my eldest boy. Cleaned the wheels and sealed them too and added the 1,735,205 coat of PERL on the tyres in 2 weeks.

Those wheels suit that so well. Think I’m definitely going for a similar colour on the S2000 wheels

Brilliant work on this @Gareth ! Did you check the top on the strut mounts in the boot? Remember looking at one a few years ago & it was starting to go there, surprised me!

The cap has been sitting for so long, the rubber has been pushed out of shape! I think a phonecall to ford when they are open again is required!View attachment 272930
Bonnet would have been pushing down on the lid, lucky or it’d been gone. surprised more cars don’t have coolant level sensors. But that’s bad deal, but could have been worse if was the oil cap.
