Evoque alloys refurbed in shadow chrome (car is white) .... this was a refresh in the same colour I had them done 3 years ago with. Minor kerbing, but of lacquer peel and some “tin worm” all sorted and at humble £££

Also this week, car threw up a “Performance Restricted” warning and went into limp mode...... reset when it was turned off and left a while, but suspect the EGR may be on its way out..... so had that deleted (just unplugged, didn’t need blanked, and still in situ for MOT inspection purposes) and had a remap to sort it out..... thinking 20% increase..... but notably smoother gear changes and less “effort” required.... will look at the economy gains (if any) in coming weeks

Washed it, again..... and used the Dark Matter Glass and Dark Matter QD along with Dark Matter Interior Cleaner..... all of which worked surprisingly well and are some of the best scented products I’ve used in a LONG time!

Couple of wee bits done to the Vectra snotter today. It didn't have any cupholders so this storage cubby was replaced with a lidded cup holder off Ebay

When I first got the car I cleared out this compartment and turfed out a wee springy bit of metal I found not realising it avoided this

Other side has one but attached to where it should be instead of rattling about the place

That's about all the effort a 12 year old Vectra that cost £200 and a MK4.5 Fiesta deserved for one day

I'd imagine he'd had enough after washing all those :joy:

Out of interest did anyone else get a text from NI Water today to say there is now a hose pipe ban?

I know @gav525 did, then they sent him 3 cease and desist texts afterwards because of how much he was using 🤣

It was on the southern radio yesterday so figured we wouldn't be too far behind

Applied Gtechniq G1 Clear Vision to my girlfriends car. Thought I’d use hers as a guinea pig.

Tried it myself recently. Not the easiest to remove, and to early to tell how good it will be over a period of time.

Run out of tyre slick?

No mate, no point putting it on the range rover to go through the cow sh1te in the fields tonight. Would be a waste of tyre slick. C63 got plenty. MINI belongs to her so doesn't need tyre slick

Being miserable I didn’t want to spend Hundreds on a light bar for the roof so against my das wishes he was brought in to fabricate me one lol Wayne Owens bent the bar , my da cut and welded everything else, I drilled the holes for the wires , trial fitted, it’s going to be galvanized and powder coated before being wired up, two flat led beacons not showen in the picture to be fitted aswell on the edges , they will dance well with the led strobes on front grill

I found it fairly easy to remove, but it came with a bottle of stuff to help remove the excess.

Thatcl bottle was for the prep 😂

There was another bottle for that, the G4 screen polish. This was a bottle of G2. Instructions were to apply the 3 layers of G1, let it cure for 15 mins once all that was done and then use the G2 to remove the cured residue.

You had me worried for a minute that I'd read the instructions in the wrong order :joy: Went and watched a YouTube video just to be sure. I did it the same order as him so hopefully that's a good sign!

Today I’ve been contemplating selling mine as I’m unable to sort out this broken bolt myself. Doing a lot of head scratching and soul searching as we speak, because despite the short time I’ve had it, I genuinely liked it, but it’s eating away at me that my limits on repairing the car have been exceeded......

Yet again my sh1t3 luck with cars has struck.

oh yea and the wife telling me “see, I told you to keep the Vectra”

Not just take it somewhere and get it sorted?
