Yesterday washed and decontaminated the C300, today gave a light polish with the DA and Blackfire as the paint is in fairly good condition. Ready to try out the Gyeon Q² CanCoat I bought from @Woodcutter. An SiO₂ product in the hands of a complete amateur - what could possibly go wrong? 😄

Past few days - wife’s Q3 got:

@pobmk4 fitted blackvue dashcam and black front Audi rings. 🙌🏻

Locally it got:
-Gearbox oil service with filter and seals
-Haldex oil Service with new seals and gauze cleaned. (This was clogged and on 17k on clock)
-Oil Service
-Set of Eibach 25mm Springs
-Front drivers track rod end
- All added to Audi digital service history

I fitted new headlight today as there was mark on current and lug broke inside.

Not going for a black badge on the rear?

Would you not have DIY'd the dashcam? I've done loads myself now (including the A6 on Monday night actually) and if I can do it anyone can!

I have the black Audi rings for back and back Q3 badge also. They are going on after the Coating at A+ Detailing on the 23/11 as I want any swirl taken out behind the rings etc, also have a short plate for the back that I will be putting on once it’s detailed.

RE dashcam, I wanted it hardwired in, rather than tapped into fusebox. Paul did it on my A4 the same and it’s perfect for me. (Peace of mind knowing a fire won’t start lol) Fair play to you doing it. I barely have time to wash my car never mind fit a dashcam lol.

Ah, mine is tapped into the fusebox just. Hard wired enough for me!

Lol, I know the feeling. The camera in the X3 has had the lead trailing to the cigarette lighter since March- but I was determined the A6 wouldn't sit like that! I don't know how everyone else has the time do be doing so much stuff to their cars tbh!

Totally agree. Getting to wash the car is like an accomplishment now. Even doing the headlight today I felt great actually getting time to do it! Love seeing people doing stuff to their car but feel like a useless facker after seeing them and knowing the parts I have to fit to our cars in the shed.

I bought 150 quids worth of anachem stuff when I changed the car, used the gear once. Getting an undisturbed poop In my house is a victory.

Freshed the front end with a nice new zed badge (Japanese option I think...)

and also changed the led sidelights to fresher units. Also took the opportunity to clean and treat the arch liners for winter storage

I got an eBay bargain set of 18” Dunlop winter tyres for the X3 during the week. I organised the courier to collect and the buyer sent me a photo of them wrapped together in 2 pairs- each pair was just held together by a pass of tape at the 12 and 6 positions. I persuaded them to put another at 3 and 9, but was still Concerned that 4 tyres wouldn’t turn up. I landed home last night and there were 4 individual tyres sitting. I’ve no idea how Parcelforce managed to keep them together the whole way, but fair play to them!

Got them swapped onto the wheels this morning ready for the snow!

Also ordered a pair of “7mm” winter Hankooks from eBay, with no previous repairs or damage. They arrived during the week, 1 had 5.5mm and had rubbing/melted round the side wall. Fantastic.

Tracked the front steering as best I could on the ramp after changing the steering rack on Thursday. Change the wheels from front to back as fronts getting low, took that opportunity to washed the wheels properly off the car and also was the arches and calipers and give underneath a hit with the hose.

Put it back on its wheels and washed the rest.

My c25xe landed with a lot of spare parts while I was out at work
One of my fellow employees thought it would be funny to mock up a finished car as I’ve that many projects an none even near completed with a few rolls of welding wire, cardboard and a cutting disc as a steering wheel
