Many Things.
Can anyone point me in the direction of anyone that can set up a carb properly. I pulled out my 1981 Honda 80R CR Scrambler at the weekend and for the 1st time ever it has refused to start and I put some fresh juice into it and it still refused to fire so I need it serviced properly and the carb cleaned and set-up again. I also noticed that one of the spokes have broke and I obviously need that fixed aswell.

Located in Dungannon Area, but willing to leave it to wherever as long as it will be safe and secure. It was my 1st bike and I have it 32yrs at this stage, so I don't want anything happening to it.

Thanks.

With my CB450 away getting work done I've nothing to tinker with at the moment. Got bored a while back and decided to design some graphics for my pit bike, finally got them printed and fitted over the weekend...

very early!
I fitted a radial master cylinder to my old 2000 ZX6R at the weekend and ordered Venhill featherlight throttle cables for her.
Next on the to do list is to fit new brake lines and remove the ABS pump from my ZX10R,I also have a pair of Bridgestone S22's ready to be fitted to her too and yes it is bloody Baltic, roll on spring!

Bike arrived into the dealer yesterday. Que excitement. Then I spent most of today getting insurance quotes. What a why to extinguish all that excitement. Forgot how draining it is. Plus the fact it looks like I have to pay way beyond a grand to insure anything where I live and because I'm a new rider. It's like being 18 all over again trying to insure a bloody Fiesta.

I'd got some quotes at the end of last year for various bikes, SV's, MT07s, ranging from £4k to brand new with extras and it seems like I would pay £1000-£1200. Add another £300 on for the Trident now. Ah well, I've pumped enough money at this already, what's another bag of sand, eh!

Flip, my first years insurance was like £300 odd for a £6k Triumph Street Cup. That's wild!

You tried MCN and Carole Nash?

I've tried everyone. The list of people who wont insure me is much much bigger than the people who will. I think out of 15 companies, only 3 will cover me. Lexham, MCE, and Bike Sure. Nobody else will touch me due to either being a new rider, no NCD, and postcode, or a combination of all 3. My mate at home had a lovely SV650S, lived in Lisburn which shared a postcode with Poleglass, parked outside his apartment block, one year older than me having just passed his test at the time. £350 a year, second year £115. Go figure.

Price it for a month away, the figure will come down. If you're trying to insure it for tomorrow it reeks of desperate, insurance co's can smell blood ££££

I'm not taking delivery until mid March, so I'm in no rush to get a policy right now. Put a right dampener on my weekend.

Same happened to me last year, ended up going with MCE. I knew it was going to be painful going straight onto a Z1000SX after passing but luckily my previous employer footed the bill thanks to my redundancy package. Glad to say it pretty much halfed after the first year, hoping I can pass the IAM this year and bring it down a bit more, just have the pain of dealing with the hi-vis warriors until I get it.

I have been questioned on my attire given I was wearing RST jeans and Alpinestars J6 as they didn't think they were "real" bike boots :joy:

To be fair my mentor and the fella is/was chairman are spot on but there's a couple of the Lisburn guys wouldn't be my cup of tea lets say but the majority have been sound and pretty welcoming
