there was a nice estoril one locally with a new from bmw engine recently. 23 grand or something.
know my mate bought one that needed a engine, in end he had to buy a complete crashed one and rob its engine.

he’s on very good terms with a large bmw branch. That’s where he bought the car once it rattled on a customer. So he got it at fair money and was offered a nice new engine at a heavy discount with it if he wanted... I believe 50% discount. He still went with buying a crashed m5 and broke the rest

@Steve750 why do they rattle? I think my mates was something to do with ran low on oil and sensors never said it needed oil?
and if you got one with a new bmw engine would the fault be fixed on newer engines?

I’m not sure @Eager, I have never looked into it. People seem to map a lot of them and melt pistons

I'm sure this unique example can easily do that. It has the very famous V8 Kompressor engine under the bonnet which is well known for its great reliability, plenty power and torque. Very clean interior and bodywork.
