Completely new car spec 2009, new points rules announced the other day.

And now an announcement of new "budget" rules from 2010:
- Optional 30M budget cap
- Teams who stay below the cap get more development freedom

So, two spec cars from 2010: One for teams with a budget over 30M, and then another a bit more flexible one for teams with a budget below 30M.

When you think you have heard it all... Are they trying to kill the sport completely?

Don't think this is Bernie's doing... cost cutting and capping is all Nazi Max's favourite pastime.....

If he stands for FIA presedency again in the summer, it'll be the end for F1 i think. :worried:

Stevie is right, its a terrible sport to watch. They should just take the safety controls of and race old school

sure is paddy. makes sense really, lack of over-taking was one the factors putting alot of people off so this is what they have come up with.

wait til one of these races are held on a wet track, utter chaos. lack of downforce will send most into a wall, gravel trap etc

lack of downforce wond send any into a wall.

Pure lack of ability to drive within the conditions might though. Bit like on any track or road. Dont blame the conditions for an inability to control your car in them.

true it may not but did you watch the British GP at Silverstone last year, practically every car spun off at one time or an other and that was when the cars had plenty of downforce. not sure by how much the levels of downforce have been reduced for this year but it will do them no favours during a wet race!

don't be too surprised about the Brawn pace, they've been designing that car for a whole year. big head start over the rest

Rover's!
Cant wait to watch it properly tonight when i get home, was listening to it on 5 live. Button yet again proving hes as good as he deserves to be. IMO he should have been louise hammy 3 years ago. The new Brawn GP Mercedes team is going to be a very interesting team to watch.

IMO, dont be surprised if at the end of the season and they are winning, that its no longer McLaren Mercedes and its now Brawn Mercedes!

Sounds like Hammy did a good job also, but IMO id rather see Button win over "silver spoon" any day because he deserves it after his bad luck.

All the top people are making an absolute fortune out of F1...why would they want to kill it! Youre all just moaning cuz the changes dont suit you or your favourites arnt winning! Changes make the racing more interesting all the time! All you have to do is look at Melbournes results to see that! Just takes a bit of getting used to! Im a huge Ferrari fan and they got hit big time by the changes last week...you dont hear me moaning about the changes in F1!
