1997 Ferrari F355 Spider

Was a wee bit nervous about doing the MOT yesterday but had no need to have worried as it passed without issue. I was pleased when the tester commented that the F355 was as clean as anything he’s seen, including an F40, F50 and an Enzo from a big F-car collection which they test every year.

I’ve heard of a couple of potential locations, but still nothing 100% yet. The Enzo (pic below) has apparently been sold, but there’s now a Porsche 918.

After 2 1/2 months in storage we are out and ready for a 7:00AM drive down to Edinburgh for an annual service tomorrow. Will likely be the last miles before hibernation.

Service done and back up the road in rain, fog and low cloud. 22mpg over 250 miles

Collected the car from storage today and enjoyed a nice roof down rip home. Only the second drive since August, so have to make up for lost time. Lots of other nice cars emerging too.

Weather finally started to turn favourable so had enjoyed a couple of outings. It’s my only car that’s fully functional at present so will be the daily driver for the rest of the week.

Hard not to put the foot down leaving Alford (been visiting aunts and uncles there since i was a wee bairn), that elongated S bend before Whitehouse begs to be driven fast. Unfortunately the police know that too. Too much commuter traffic heading to Aberdeen nowadays anyway.

Road to Huntly from Alford is decent too. Then you've the drive from just before Lumsden, past Mossat to Strathdon and up the Lecht.

There are some fantastic roads around these parts, given the general quietness I’d say there are few places as good in the UK. Had a great day out on Sunday around the Moray coast with a friend and his Mk1 289 AC Cobra. The acceleration on that thing is insane.

one of the clubs im involved in is supposed to be so ill probably end up there, never been only did the one at Alford last year with the K20 Jazz

Did the MOT during the week, breezed through apart from emissions which took a bit time. Only clocked 1200 miles since last year’s MOT which wasn’t bad considering it was in storage for almost 8 months.

When driving this feels big and wide, but when you park beside modern “compact” cars it looks like a 2/3 scale model
