Changin to an M6 runnin full power @ 600 RMS.
Wasnt really a specific question as such was just wonderin if there was and advantage to havin one sub say 300rms to havin two runnin 150each. Like the single bein dvc and the twins bein svc and the same makes?
ah now theres some specifics
well the obvious upgrade is to the m6 as it is a higher class of sub than the budget jl w0 so will obviously out perform.dual voice coil subs benefit is that they allow for more wiring options but thats pretty much it though, no difference in sound etc.
in your case, you have changed from running two subs at 350 to one at 600, point being that the single sub has more power so moves twice as much as your 2 subs did at 350 watts therefore being just as loud as them (in theory)
this is because your m6 is moving just as much air as your twin jl's did. understand or is that confusing you? basically your single sub now, pushes the same amount of air as your previous subs as you are giving it twice the power(the jls were getting half the power so moved half as much)geddit?lol!
to be honest you wouldnt be getting the full 350 im sure and obviously not constantly either due to power fluctuations during music and the figures quoted on your amp are probably at a 1khz tone on a bench at 14.4 volts(as are 80% of all amps )
in your case youve made the better move to the single m6 as its allowing more room in the car and it will out class the w0's as they are a lower range of subs
