I always use TrustPilot for a site I’ve never used before. That site looks good apart from the 1 review saying something about having to pay for updates.

With these types of scanners do the updates matter? If you don't get the update do they cease to work or is it just that new cars on the market won't be added?

i have had the 808 and its great, got the 1 year updates then let it lapse. still works perfect, prob need an update every few years for a casual user just for the extra functions and newer models. think mine ran out in 2020 and i havnt been stuck yet.

As said, I’ve had mine 3-4 years and haven’t updated it. I’ll probably update it next year though. Anything I’ve needed it to do has worked.
