They would be the ultimate track car really. The level of intensity of driver involvement and reward from the experience would be emense, that I have no doubt. If the sole purpose was to to lap a track quicker than pretty much anything else this side of a single seater, then a Radical SR3 would have to be up there on the list, but if road use is required then that rules it out.Radicals are proper amazing on track, still got to be the most fun cars I've driven. I drove an Aston Martin GT4 racecar about a week before the Radical and it doesn't even come close to how the Radical drives.
This is a far better hint hint nudge nudge lol
@evo98 if you've never driven an Atom, apparently those Supercar Experience days at Nutts Corner have them, and it's on this weekend. Maybe @elmo7
That's it then the end of an era , was at kirkers the first day the Bonda appeared was very impressed with the concept ,and the build quality , I know it took a while to get it to where it finished bu t sure that's the challenge ! Atom would be really cool , in every sense of the word !! a track ready car is very appealing after the hassles involved in buiding one , but trying one first sounds sensible ,
We had manys a good battle. Best memory of the lot is myself, you, @elmo and @StephenDc2 that time having a bit of a foursome for a number of laps :) Brilliant and I will always have them videos to look back on.
Well thats that then ! Its gone to london an im just off the phone to the new owner an he is happy with it
Was a bit of a gamble him buying it without seeing it. He paid me a deposit via bank transfer an he seemed a fenuine guy so i let the car go on a transporter. Gave the lorry man a tener to buy his lunch an wait to the remaining £££ is transferred.
All good so far View attachment 91006
Get a decent base model, and then upgrade it yourself as you go along. Spread the cost, and get it exactly the way you want it over time. Suspension, brakes, supercharging, aero/bodywork and all the rest of it, all of these things are bolt-ons you can add as you go along. Either factory spec, or one of the many aftermarket options.
Make it a bit of a project to evolve over time, a bit more interest.
The one at 40k is defo out of my price range. I discussed it with a dealer today who i have on my side an thought that atom 2 would do me the very best an hes been in promising negotiations.
Hope no one gets there in front of me but there is a few things i need to finalise before i take the plunge.
This car has all the right bits an has been to the atom factory recently an has 6 grand upgrading all the 2 bits that were changed on the new 3.
Here is some better pictures he sent us.
