Radicals are proper amazing on track, still got to be the most fun cars I've driven. I drove an Aston Martin GT4 racecar about a week before the Radical and it doesn't even come close to how the Radical drives.

They would be the ultimate track car really. The level of intensity of driver involvement and reward from the experience would be emense, that I have no doubt. If the sole purpose was to to lap a track quicker than pretty much anything else this side of a single seater, then a Radical SR3 would have to be up there on the list, but if road use is required then that rules it out.

That's it then the end of an era , was at kirkers the first day the Bonda appeared was very impressed with the concept ,and the build quality , I know it took a while to get it to where it finished bu t sure that's the challenge ! Atom would be really cool , in every sense of the word !! a track ready car is very appealing after the hassles involved in buiding one , but trying one first sounds sensible ,

@evo98 if you've never driven an Atom, apparently those Supercar Experience days at Nutts Corner have them, and it's on this weekend. Maybe @chris_b has more info on them.

For a track toy I couldn't recommend them highly enough. Rapid through all the gears with just the right amount of lag from a standstill plus they have no anti roll bars so you need to pin the nose on the corners, rotate and power on which all keeps it pretty exciting really

I drove by as the straps were being put on, I'm sure no matter what replaces it will be equally as mental.

I can assure yous that i dont have the Lotus tucked away anyhow.

Look at this. Think this is the nicest ive see yet. I tallied up the extras lastnight an this car was over 62 grand new. Its up for 42 an the atom factory reckons the owner would take 40 for it.

Pity its out of my price range! I do reckon it would be worth getting into debt for thou. It has everything.

Get a decent base model, and then upgrade it yourself as you go along. Spread the cost, and get it exactly the way you want it over time. Suspension, brakes, supercharging, aero/bodywork and all the rest of it, all of these things are bolt-ons you can add as you go along. Either factory spec, or one of the many aftermarket options.

Make it a bit of a project to evolve over time, a bit more interest.

I dont think this is the way to go with one of these mate. The prices for new bits out of the factory is complete madness. For instance.

Supercharger. £5215
Magnesium wheels/tyres on above car
£3235

Carbon mudguards £1500 plus an the front an rear spoilers are both over 2 grand each. Its 4 grand for the bigger brakes front an back.

Dont fancy spending all that. I think buy the best spec one i can afford for now.

That above car is 7 year old now so hes lost 20k plus on it

All the mechanical bits are bolt-ons from AP or Nitron or whatever, no need to go to factory. "Their" supercharger is the same Rotex or whatever that everyone else uses. The engine is a Honda. Nothing special.

Bodywork, yes, maybe factory is the only option. On the Lotus/Caterham/whatever there are other options, but do not know about the Atom.

£40k for a tracktoy is a heck of a lot of money. Prices seem rather random for these things though, lol, and I get the appeal of just buying something out of the box and be done :grinning:

Id be nervous of a 40k toy like this - who do you offload it to when you've had your fun? and how much will you need to sell it for to get it away?

A man with 40k has a lot of options I would have thought.

Could be married to it for life or blow your brains out to offload it to one of those specialist dealers who must to be making 5-8k on these kinds of things for how long they sit in the showroom!

The one at 40k is defo out of my price range. I discussed it with a dealer today who i have on my side an thought that atom 2 would do me the very best an hes been in promising negotiations.

Hope no one gets there in front of me but there is a few things i need to finalise before i take the plunge.

This car has all the right bits an has been to the atom factory recently an has 6 grand upgrading all the 2 bits that were changed on the new 3.

Here is some better pictures he sent us.
