Bought this off another forum member a couple of months back and I've wracking my brains of how I wanted to make it my own. Lower it, chop the rear off completely, respray it couple of other bits and pieces.

Mate sent me a link a day or two ago to one that was done a couple of years and its right up my street so its my inspiration. Couple of bits that i'll be doing differently, but you'll get the idea.

What it has at the minute and how it looks...

Renthal ultra low bars,
Plasti dipped black
Streetfighter style front light.
Koso db01r gauge fitted and working.
Datatool alarm
New chain and sprockets fitted less than 500 miles.
renthal front sprocket -1 tooth
Carbs recently done too.

And roughly how it'll be when I'm done.....

Still havent pinned it in more than 3rd, still scares the crap out of me but I love the thing.:laughing:

Yeah i'll be doing something different.
He has his mounted sideways..

looks cool, but i'll probably be opting for an arm coming off the swingarm to the right or a strip behind the seat. Either way it will probably get me stopped for too small.

some states in the good old usa allow the plates to be mounted sideways. i love the look apart from the finish of the rear frame and seat really lets it down

Was reading through his build thread last night and some of the small changes he's made to it are nothing short of brilliant!
Agree on the seat. I don't think it was finish as in the thread it shows him moulding a good round finish for it with recesses for the led strips.

Another touch I'd be doing is trying to bring the shape of the frame (the outward v shape) up to the section under the seat too. But starting at the bottom lower bolt and curving up to the top corner so it sort of follows the line.

How do you find the plastidip to hold out on the tank? Always thought it would rip/cut with it being in regular contact with your thighs.

It hasnt ripped once, and I havent been careful with it as it will be coming off.
Its not the best job in the world by a long shot, but it was temporay from what I know.
It does score however. with a clear sealant on it, it would be grand though.

Your coast road pics, the image is flipped isn't it.
Great wee bikes, have a J1 just turned 46k and still does the business.

It is indeed man.
This one has 38 or 40 on it I think have the original clocks for it too, but the Koso is great.
Will be adjusting how its mounted and hopefully improving its pick up of the rev range, not accurate at all at the minute.

It won't be sold on. I got it for an absolute bargain in my eyes. It does look good now, but it will look awesome when I'm finished.
Really love the open rear wheel too. Always wanted to do it.

Started on this tonight, just dismantling to a degree. First step is I want to get all the electrics working right and its the thing I hate most so I'm doing it first and getting all the lights, etc working as they should.
Also ripped out the datatool. What is the point in an alarm if it cant be switched off indefinitely with the key and fob. So it was introduced to a hammer.

I'm guessing this thing is the fuse of the brake lights?

Its plugs into the red connection on the left of the pic below it. Indicators work but the wires that come from this fuse are only going to the rear brake/side light.

Rear section cut off and tested to see what it sits like. Just need to join the two metal arms with a piece, make up a bracket for the existing light as it fits under it perfectly, new small indicators and tidy it all up at the rear.

Handle bars flipped down a touch but not sure if the piping for the brakes will allow it, might see what other bars or raisers are out there.

i hate to piss on the party. but when it goes for MOT the rear light/reflector has to be at least level with the back wheel?
