Thing i liked about the ck3100 is that it comes with the 2 pronged thingy (technical term) that allows you to mount the unit where your stereo removal keys go in. Saves drilling, ingenious!!

certainly lyons old chap.

Managed to find a few guides and photos online.

My only query now is, the switched feed from the fuesbox gets tapped into the orange wire on the Parrot loom correct? Im told the red/orange need swapped around and this is done at the inline fuse holders just. If this is the case, which end of the orange wire is tapped into?!

You need to do it from the car end (you've about 3" between the parrot iso and fuse holder), to maintain the use of the fuse.

Also check to see if theres a pin in the original loom where the orange wire goes into. If theres a connection there its gonna be 12v constantly regardless of attacting your ign feed.

Best bet would be to snip the orange between the iso and the fuse holder. Solder your new 12v ign feed to this and tape up the stump at the iso end.

Got this fitted last night.

Swapped the orange and red wires at the fuse holders, tapped into the light blue wire at the cigarette lighter to get the switched feed then connected it into the orange wire on the car side of the fuse holder. I then made a couple of calls to make sure it was working before putting it back in, then one more when everything was put back together just to make sure...

This morning neither the Parrot or the stereo are turning on at all when the ignition is turned on :worried:

Any ideas?????

Oh, you have no idea how much im hoping and praying that when i remove it all its just a case of seeing a connector come loose :worried:.

I dont see how a fuse would blow when all was fine? If it has, then obviously theres a more serious underlying problem.

Such a pain in the ass though, the MK5 stereo requires the surround dash to be removed first. I hope its an easy fix after all that!

I feel your pain Lyons, I sat scratching my head for 2 hours last night with a lot of wiring hanging out of a CTR dash board. Then a quick call to Cartunes quickly had me looking in the right direction, the red wire spade connector had fallen out of the multiplug. Now we're in action! Great bit of kit

For your Parrot?

It has to be a simple power wire problem, as both the head unit and Parrot arent working- it just has to be!

Im really hoping i pull the head unit out and all the wires squashed together has resulted in the power ISO coming loose. Easy fix-arama.

Yep that's what happened mine as well, neither head unit nor Parrot would power up.

Hope I haven't got your hopes up chum!

I see you ran a wire off the fag lighter - did you check if its working?

Yeah. As i said, we tried it 2 or 3 times last night turning the ignition on and off and all was well.

Lads, you're not going to believe this.

So, stripped it all out last night and phoned Del. Turns out the wire id tapped the switched feed into should have been cut on the other side. So i snipped the orange out the back of the female ISO on the Parrot loom.

The fuse for the radio had also blown, so replaced that.

Again, all appeared to be well- working with the ignition so i put the car back together and still working grand.

Phoned the wife on the way to work this morning to make sure the kit sounded ok and it turns out theres nothing on the Parrot display at all. This time at least the radio is working, but im actually going to lose it altogether.

Can someone tell me should the red and orange be swapped at the inline fuse holders on the Parrot or not?

Ollie, fancy taking a 2 second look at it at the weekend?
