Had a quick browse through the cars for sale on that site. The prices for some of the stuff if mental. 3 or 4 times more than what you'd pay here in some cases.

So it turns out the car is genuine, he's sent me through proper pics of it. He didn't have any handy when sticking the ad up so googled a couple of Passat V6 ones to use as stock pics and never even looked where they were from.

The 2.8 V6 wouldn't set your world on fire in a Mk4 Golf - couldn't imagine it being much better in a Passat!

Test drove a 2.8 v6 passat manual last year, wasn't expecting much but it was absolutely gutless
