Well thats the van packed, just waiting for Sharon Cadell and her partner Chris to arrive then we head over to Dave Wheatleys to start the convoy to Dublin at 5pm. Sharon and Chris will be in the camper with me and we'll be collecting Dave Clarke somewhere near Drogheda on the way. 12 racecars, 40 drag race fans all heading for the boat on what will be the trip of the year as we head to Santa Pod Raceway in Bedfordshire for VW Action. We aim to drive all night and be at Tesco's Wellingborough somewhere around 6-7am, get some sleep then do a bit of shopping, then its on to the pod where we will meet up with Brian and head to the pits where he has set up our "little Ireland" spot
The entry list is insane, the 7 second Audi A5 of a certain Jens Ekland left sweden 2 days ago, Don Octane , Donkey Tec, and all the big hitters that like drifting 8 second golfs at 1000ft will be there. Yours truly will be in the tower at some point on Saturday having a good chat with Luke Stevenson as we get set to see just how much quicker these beetles can go at the best track in Europe, certainly Dave has his eyes firmly set on a 10 with his best at Bishopscourt being an 11.54 @120 with a very poor 60' by his standards, the big question is can he keep the car from aiming skyward.
The Nimbus Motorsport live feed should be running all weekend on Santa Pods page so you can check it out there, we are loaded to the rafters with cameras, so hopefully we can get some decent footage and images.
An hour an 20mins and im out of the door, can't wait.
Oh, did i mention, we have a couple of friends with a Granada and a Legacy joining the party
Let the fun begin.
