Took into giving the Focus a quick Polish & Wax and instantly regretted even starting:laughing:

Haha I’m in the same boat, put the car in the garage to buff and wax it, a combination of weather, being stupidly busy and going insane over a house move means it’s not made it out yet, needs a wash and another coat of wax before I’m happy!

There's a nice walk around the base of Benbulben if you're ever back Benbulben (Gortarowey) Looped Walk

yeah, want to do that too, weather had turned tho so didn’t as wanted to go to a waterfall today and it’s a far shorter walk.

Ended Up getting out and walking a few different places I came across and hadn’t planned. And struck up a random conversation with the owner of these friendly beasts which took up time lol

Honestly I couldn’t tell ya and I couldn’t care a less, no more warning symbol on dash or dinging at me so all good from my prospective

Was it possibly the cornering rather than side light?

Pulled the crusty old shocks and springs off to replace with some nice new ones

Also got the POR-15 out for the front subframe and a few areas of surface rust and liberally coated the lot (along with face and hands  )
I did my front discs with POR15 last week, I wore glove but I managed to get it on my hands when tidying up, was on hands for 4 days. Doing the back discs tomorrow 😬

Where did you get the POR15 @Coog? How effective is it?

Got it from Frost Restoration on eBay. It's really expensive for all you get but it's very good stuff. Have a search on Google and you'll see how everyone rates it.

I've done a few things with it and it kills the rust off and dries hard as nails so it's money well spent IMO.

Hard to see what it looks like here but the finish is gloss black.

Setting up a blow heater now and will let that run for a bit! At least it’s only on one side and it’s leaking through the door card...

Ah well, gets me outside as the weather has wised up here :grinning:

Nightmare. How is it leaking through the door card?

Did a bit of internet research and found that it’s a common e39 Problem.

The butyl rubber that holds on the insulation behind the door card dries out and peels away from the door. Water gets in under the window rubber and into the car through the door. I’ll take the door cards off tomorrow after the drying out the interior 🤦🏾‍♂️ I saw quite a bit of water at the bottom of the door card this morning.

Past the window rubber, runs of the glass onto the inner frame of the door and then tends to come through the speaker hole of the likes.

see this often enough tbh

Edit: just seen your reply! Thanks, yeah I read a few e39 forums and saw that you can replace the inner door insulation panel and reseal the inner part of the door. I’ll be trying this out on my hangover fueled Sunday 🤣🤣

Are you sure it's your door seal?
Mine done the exact same thing and I thought it was my door seal but it wasn't. I threw the head up and cut a hole in the carpet with a Stanley blade and saw how bad it was.
Then decided to rip the carpet up as much as I could then got it stripped out and a new carpet for the rear 😂

The front drain ducts were fully blocked up with like tightly compacted dirt and was overflowing down the front foot well and into the back.
. It ran along the side of the inner sill and through this little hole lol

Thanks @Gemma - the front is totally dry. But I’m not ruling out any possibility at this stage. Last week I had the other typical e39 Problem of the area under the brake Servo filling up with water (we’ve had a absolute deluge of rain here for the last month and it’s finally sunny this week). This was also due to a blocked drain. But I sorted that last weekend and all is good again. Bought a new Servo anyway, which I’ll change out after I dry the interior lol lol lol

But I can see water coming from under the door card on the same side and I’ll take both rear door cards off to find out more. The other side was very slightly wet. I’m pretty sure it’s coming from the door, but based on your post I’ll take a look at the front again and I know the sills are clear because I had to clean them out when I got the car through tüv last month... lol lol lol
