‘99 Audi TDI lack of power

Hi all,
Over the past few days I have noticed my 1.9TDI A4 really struggling to get up to speed. I think the turbo is kicking in but it just takes a while to get there.
I should mention it has 177k on it but regularly serviced by previous owners.

Forums mention MAF. Would this be a good place to start? I haven’t plugged it in yet but hope to do some tinkering at home tomorrow.

I’ve a 99 Passat TDI with 240k on it, I replaced the MAF and it fixed the lack of already lacking of power lol.

tbh, I got a second hand one off eBay with the airbox included for £30 or so. Worth a shot

Yes I’m going to disconnect it first then if all goes well source one locally. Fingers crossed that’s it, hasn’t given much bother so far

You need to run some logs on VCDS to find out the issue, could be MAF, MAP, N75 or sicky VNT.

Pleased to have boost again
I had been futtering about a few days ago and a pipe was disconnected from...somewhere.

If only all fixes were that easy!

As above, I owned the Passat sam9n is talking about and fixed the MAF before - it’s like super dead when you turn it on, then you rev it in first and it “picks up” a bit. Then it’s a slightly better limp mode than before
