Anyone interested in a group buy for airconditioning regassing should pm me with their reg number. This will be taking place next week Monday 12th - Friday 17th June. Simply head to Specialist Auto in Carrickfergus and give them your reg number and we should avail of the discounted price. The guys are only open 9-5 Monday to Friday, but if that doesn't suit (doesn't suit me!) a few of us could arrange to go down together and he says he'll keep the place open to do our aircon. Any night next week would suit me.

Could everyone interested please pm me asap so I can let John know how many people will be coming, along with their reg numbers if they haven't already done so (y)

boys a dear, a guy in ballyclare, known as the air con gas king, or chris barret is cheaper than that for 1 car! 1 car he does for around £60 never mind 5 cars at that
his number is 07702116513 and better than traveling to him, he will travel to you to do it!

Scrob battered john a bit more on his price and the lowest he would go was
1 to 5 cars £50 each
6 and over £45 each

Call down and see his machine and get a feel for the good service he WILL provide for yourself:cool:

I thought me and Lyons were tight :p Not bad at £45 considering a lot of places are looking £80.

sounds alot more reasonable! and f he has the machine like euro car parts sell, it will be an excelent job, cause not only does it remove the gas, it seperates the gas from oil, stores the old gas and then seperates the moisture from it, meaning it can be reused, it also does a full vacume and leak test on the car at the same time, well once the gas has been removed, then refills it, all you need to d is about 1 min of sietting up consisting of hitting buttons to set amounts of oil to go in, and gas to go in, and hit start, it's fully automatic and then does the rest for you

Good stuff, had read you have to be careful with the oil so as to not damage seals. Don't know a huge amount about it but sounds like this is the job :grinning:

Will be so handy for the summer having aircon that actually works! Don't fancy the thought of sitting in traffic from work in a suit and tie with the sweat pishing outta me.. Hopefully feel like those white 406 taxis you get in Spain, ice cold

not so much be careful with the oil, but you must not use oil from an opened container like one thats lying open or oil that has been lying around, plus there are different grades of oil to use depending on model and make of car, ONE OIL DOES NOT DO ALL!
plus the ac gas is actually the lubricant for most cars anyhow, though some manufacturers run a bit of oil for security!

believe it or not ALL MANUFACTURERS actually DONT run the right amount of gas in their systems from new! they ARE ALL BETWEEN 80+G SHORT OF WHAT THE GUIDELINES FOR THE VEHICLE ARE this being so as when you go in for a service they can check it and charge you again for it

I'm thinking about sometime around the start of June for this, how does that suit everyone else? If you could post up when you are or aren't available it would help move things along! :grinning:
