I'm hopefully going to try and get over to Anglesey this year for a track day. I have made a list of dates for anyone else who is interested. Feel free to add any dates you would be up for and we might be able to get a small group together.

The plan is to drive down to Dublin the day before. Ferry over to Holyhead. Overnight stay in a local hotel.
Track day check in opens at 7.30am, sighting laps start at 9am.
Stops at 5pm. Hopefully car is still in one piece for the evening ferry back to Dublin.

I'm guessing full circuit and international GP are the same. Descriptions of circuit options are below the dates.

INTERNATIONAL GP

The 2.10 mile International GP Circuit includes all other track layouts apart from the Corkscrew, and Club Hairpin.

The circuit offers state of the art safety and run-off designs, together with a creative blend of fast, medium and slow sections, complimented with downhill sweeps, interesting rises and imaginative cambers. The circuit is suitable for almost every category of racing bike or car and offers spectators a choice of several excellent vantage points.

COASTAL

The 1.55 mile Coastal Circuit offers a similar concept to the International GP Circuit with an approximate 25% reduction in lap distance and time.

This will provide an interesting and practical alternative for event organisers. This circuit offers a slightly shorter lap possibly favoured by less powerful machinery and also includes the extremely popular Corkscrew. Maximum speeds would be similar as both circuits include the high speed section from the 10% banked corner, The Banking, through Church and along the coastal section towards Rocket.

NATIONAL

The 1.2 mile National Circuit incorporates the only remaining section of the original Anglesey Circuit.

School Corner is rated by many drivers and motoring journalists as one of the most demanding high speed corners currently in use in Britain and Ireland. For this reason, this section has been incorporated into an ideal layout for national events, maintaining all the characteristics of the original circuit which were so popular, together with a longer lap distance, improved surface, width and run-off areas.

The circuit is arguably one of the best shorter circuits in the UK. It is extremely technical offering two long straights, the fast, sweeping School corner leading up to Rocket.

I could work with nearly any date outside of August (with notice). One for the GTI... not sure I'd fancy karting the van & trailer down & over for it.

Just go at 99.78% instead of the full 100.

@gav525 fancy it? Work, track car and hair washing permitting of course.

I can't do the 10th, 12th or 17th of July dates as I'm away on holiday those dates. Any other date I should be able to make work.

What about the 22nd or 29th of May? The 29th of May is a bank holiday Monday so might suit more people.

Yes definitely, work will be the main thing that stops me going tbf. Should have a car worthy of a track day soon, hair sorts itself out 🌝

Planning the Ring early April so as long as its not then I'll definitely try and make it across.

I know your patience has been tested with the MK5 @Chris tii recently, so probably not really thinking of track days just yet but just wanted to see if a date has been settled on yet.

Hey. Let me come up with a plan this weekend and I’ll put it forward. Can you do any of the dates in August?

Any bar 21st seems to be OK

How does Sunday 27th of August sound? It’s a bank holiday the following day.

Saturday ferry from Dublin at 2.45pm gets in at 6.20pm.

8 minute drive to The Valley Hotel. Open to hotel suggestions, this one seems cheap and cheerful and is in between the ferry and the track. It also has a bar, restaurant and free parking including motorhome/coach parking, so guessing big enough for your trailer if you bring it.

Track day starts at 7.30am and is split into 2 halves. First half is the GP circuit, second is the coastal track. Not sure if thats a good thing, on one hand it will keep the day interesting, on the other, it would be nice to have more time to learn the track and improve times.

Ferry back to Dublin leaves at 8.30pm.

Ferry price is £306. Hotel is £60 single - £100 twin. Track day is £229.

Who fancies it?

Yes that sounds good to me!

Great! Give it until next week before we book anything, I’ve said to a couple of other guys outside of the forum, just waiting to hear back from them. 🤞

Just checking the ferries and see that they knock £96 off for a short stay so it's working out as £264 for the ferries at the minute.

Ferry prices must have come down rightly, I took the Freelander over with the MX5 on a trailer in 2019 and it was £450 for a Sat/Sun return.
Tyres were £650 for that event plus £185 entry fee and a night in a hotel which the co-driver paid for etc. Great craic overall though.
Enjoy!!

I did it with just the rally car in 2018 to save money but the journey there and back on gravel tyres nearly deafened both of us. There was a loud gurning noise from the passenger seat that was hard to get rid of too lol. Hope to go back this year if possible.
