Asking for a boy in work,

He drives a 2013 F10 520d and got stung quite a bit for a regular service at the dealer.

He wants to go to an indy next time the servicing needs done but as the newer F series BMW's have an electronic service history rather than a book he would rather have the electronic history updated to reflect work done.

Does anybody know of any indy's that can do this or if its even possible beyond a BMW dealer service?

Cheers

just start his own private history and buy a blank service book of ebay, print off the electronic history and compile it. Its out of warranty anyway if its 2013 so not much to gain going to a main dealer

Nevermind just found a program that you can do it yourself, he seems happy enough to use that just so he can keep a record of work carried out on the car

Just done this on a car which didn’t get its front pads changed by BMW

Allows you to add the service not carried out by BMW into the iDrive

Doesn’t the trip reset “secret menu” let you do that or is that just on the 1 series?

It’l let you reset the service light but it doesnt update the service history menu

This lets you input the miles and what work was done so it is entered the service history menu.

Issue is I verified the work was done on the car.

Every M Performance kitted 3 series in the country will now be sold as having a full service history as well

Sorry I thought it was just front pads you were updating

Where is that software available from? Did an oilchange and filters on my own car last weekend and had just planned on keeping a paper log but if I can load into the idrive log I will.

You will need the following:

ENET Cable
EDIABAS Server on your laptop
HU Service Manager(Thats the software used for updated the service history)

Links below to the forum posts that I used to get hold of the software. (Admin please delete if I am not allowed to share links to other forums - All software I have posted is listed as FreeWare and is not pirated software)

Mike's Easy BMW Tools - This has INPA, EDIABAS, WinKFP and NCS Expert
**Mike's Easy BMW Tools Package**

HU Service Manager
Updating idrive history with HU-ServiceManager

Did i not read somewhere that info will only be on the computer until bmw over write it with their history from the main server. I would like to find out for sure @AlpineF30 as it would be great for the 3 gen minis also. Gen 3 minis are still obd standard

So you can make up whatever you want and make it look legit with a bit of software and knowhow. Great!

Will get wiped if it is ever serviced at the main dealer again. The only way round it I think is to get a BMW service account to register it with their server :worried:

Anyone in the southwest???????

Mate this is a Northern Ireland forum so I think there are not many members from England.

Maybe try F30Post they have a UK section and its quite busy or failing that try cartechnology.co.uk

Appreciate this is now ad old thread but any help would be appreciated.

Seem to be struggling to actually open the service history manager (BAT file) despite having everything above downloaded. Can anyone clarify how the ediabas server is linked to the service history manager as I currently just have it downloaded and don't seem to be able to open the history manager through either file explorer or the BMW tool kit,
