I m trying for cancellation but date I got for it was September or something mental lol i keep trying but I'm always at work when a date comes up. Mot is some mess currently. Do your head in.

I would have the same problem, don’t have the time to mess around sorting an MOT. So anything I am considering needs to have at least 6 months MOT on it to be an option.

If you work at a computer there's very minimal messing around involved with getting an MOT. Once you have one booked it takes minutes to look for a cancellation a couple of times a day. I've had absolutely no bother with MOTs in the last year - always managed to get one fairly local within the next day or two after checking for cancellations.

Can understand it's a pain in the hoop if you're something that doesn't require you to sit in front of a computer for periods of time.

It’s the time to take the car for the MOT, not the booking process.

Will be moving this on soon if my other car purchase goes to plan.

Car is in Scotland, Just South of Glasgow, approximately 2 hours from cairnryan. Can possibly pick up from airport or train station.

Saab 9-3 2.0T Aero Estate, MOT until December 2024

Good bits:
Manual
Ice cold air con
Bilstein B12 suspension kit (B8 dampers + Eibach Springs, 25mm lowered)

Full powerflex poly bush install

Abbot 3" stainless downpipe with sports cat

Maptun 2.5" stainless cat-back exhaust

Maptun/Sachs uprated clutch (approx 17000 miles old)

Stage 3 Noobtune (approx 270bhp)

Original 17" Saab wheels, rough, but with 4 recently new sumitomo tyres.

Recent disks/pads, including both nearside calipers replaced

Was Regularly serviced at Central Saab in Gorebridge and serviced by myself last 2 years including spark plugs and new metal T piece coolant pipe.

And common chain tensioner and guide replaced for preventative maintenance .

Bad bits:

Wheel arches, door bottoms all starting to suffer paint bubbling and hole in offside front arch

Driver's seat bolster "well used" compared to rest

Front centre air vent adjustment has gone 'loose'

Plastic engine cover broken.

In summary

Brilliantly mechanically and used daily with long trips once a month but bodywork wise is rough with rust and a few marks and dents.
