I'm just grateful I couldn't afford big body kits and expensive stuff for the car, I'm not one bit embarrassed about the neons underneath , they made the corsa look class

Two bad ideas was a Citroen AX spoiler on the tail gate of my corsa and black pvc tape on the headlights to give the bad boy bonnet look at night lol

Rover's!
Tbh I'm considering doing led kit under my yellow zt-t.

I'm just not sure how gay it will look.

Are we talking graham Norton beard, Alan Carr's teeth or just straight out their Julian Simmons hair plugs.

Might do it in yellow anyways and just get my arse smashed in.

Most embarrassing mod I ever remember is letting @Jethro 'detail' my immaculate Subaru at the time. I was dizzy looking at it with the swirls. We ended up in the small claims and he was ordered to pay £23 in damages and £150 to S.C.A Packaging for the ink he stole from them to touch up Subaru wheels at the time. Geoff don't think I've forgot.

Yes I am steaming and yes it's 11am, what of it.

Oh the laughs we had those days :-D but that tax book mod was the best ever, I'd be afraid to post the pic of it up incase it's still about.
Did you forget about the grinder modifications to your lopsided Integra, how you made it smoke so well and kept it supplied with oil?

First car, first mod... pulled the huge middle grill out of a standard D-Turbo bumper and replaced it with a big piece of silver mesh. Car was black. Quickly followed by an Espace splitter which hit the road every time the standard suspension wallowed lmao @KeithRobinson and @IL will remember it

I kept my Saxo standard as it had 3 years free insurance and you weren't allowed to carry out any mods. The mini was a different story though I like to think every mod carried out was tasteful and not worthy of this thread :p

Some car mods I do remember cringing at were:
Black tights over the rear light clusters
Under car neons that changed colour
Big ridiculous exhausts on 1.0 litre corsas
Awful looking body kits that likely cost a fortune
Clifford alarms that made a hideous screech when you got too close to the car

Allowing @SuitorMenswear to do this to my Saxo?
Lights were painted completely pink, SQD sticker put on, painted gloss black then sticker removed, all the night before the Lisburn show.

I had a 1300 mk2 escort and my mate stuck RS1800 badges on it and to make it sound good :sob: I removed the air box.
To finish off I added Spax shocks to the rear and set them at 'dead' hard 8-(.
I tried a bit of tail out driving and spun her into a wall, wrecked.

My only mod was an espace front splitter on my corsa 1.2 merit while lowered 40mm with a 2.5" rear pipe sticking out from the black plastic bumper

My Racing Puma had a talking alarm when you got too close, something like "Stand back, protected by security system". Trouble was local kids thought this was hilarious and they would deliberly walk up to the car all the time when it was parked outside the house.

On my first car (a mk2 ph1 1.2 clio) I had 16" Megane wheels and front fogs to make it look like a better spec'd model. Then I fitted a Leon Cupra splitter (this was 2007 just before everyone had started fitting them to everything). Looking back I really should have lowered it a bit because it probably looked like a roller skate with the big wheels and standard ride height lol. I also used to take the airbox off so I could hear the intake roar of my little 8v engine lmao!

My 2nd car was a lot better thought out. 1.4 16v MK4 Golf, anni kit, euro spec tail lights, BBS LM reps, GT TDI seats and coilovers. The only thing I was embarrassed about was my exhaust! Went to JON Exhausts in Newry to get a stainless cat back system and told them I wanted just a nice note, nothing too loud. By the time I'd got home I had a headache! Wayyyy too loud! Rang them and said I'll be up in the morning to get a centre box put in as it was far too loud for normal driving! Even after that though I ended up buying the biggest Jetex back box I could fit and getting it welded on by my dad cause it was still too loud! Sounded alright after all that messing about though! Haha

In the second video at 3.16, is it bad that I think that yellow Clio is very cool even now?

Even though most of the cars were h00rs abortions I think we would do it all again. I loved working with my mates in the shed making stupid sh1te thinking it was cool.

Nothing better than a Saturday working on a mates car, banter, dose of drink, clubbing and a bit of tom foolery in the evening. Bangor on Sunday with the car minted and mods fitted but still suffering from Saturday nights shenanigans. 20 Marlboro light, several redbull and a Country fried chicken for tea and off home at midnight lol. Good times.

Good times indeed. Jesus this thread is depressing me. Sitting in a car park smoking revving and being told off about my metro style number plates on my way home. I had some amount of £30 fines.

The worst thing is I still consider that the best car I ever had, despite having three coilovers and one cut spring.
