The work you have done so far is a credit to both you and Junior you.

The fact you enjoy metal work is great as it wont feel like a chore to do it. I am sure its rewarding to see it progress as well.

with junior away on a sponsored charity cancer event i managed a couple off hours at the shed

something that you never know how bad it’s going to be is always body work and the front wings on these cavaliers mantas and asconas are all the same as they are a dirt trap

i need to buy a shrinker and stretcher in the near future

IMG_3584.jpeg

IMG_3585.jpeg

IMG_3586.jpeg

at this point most people would give up and buy a new wing

IMG_3586.jpeg

IMG_3587.jpeg

IMG_3588.jpeg

IMG_3589.jpeg

i noticed the heat was starting to warp the patch so i had make a bit off a relief cut

IMG_3590.jpeg

IMG_3592.jpeg

now on to the bottom bit

IMG_3594.jpeg

that looked like a few wee spots before i started in to it

IMG_3596.jpeg

IMG_3597.jpeg

still more to go but at least i know it’s metal now

on to the rear bags now

the rear chassis leg had a bit off rot but also we needed a small bit off clearance to stop the bag rubbing so we plated it up and welded in to position

IMG_3645.jpeg

we had to make a cup for the lower section so the bag sits in the original mount

IMG_3646.jpeg

now something i am over board on its wheel fitment and in my opinion it can make or break a build

IMG_3638.jpeg

so we tried on a set of 25mm wheel spacers

IMG_3640.jpeg

but the wee man is up to no good as usual 😂

he it trying to figure out some wiring for the air suspension

@Mr.Mint i don’t think the retro wheels i was talkin to you about will fit ☹️

so we are just gonna use the piazza wheels and i will get another set down the road

IMG_3642.jpeg

and a test tyre even tho it’s a 17” popped on to check clearances

IMG_3643.jpeg

so we need a 205 x 45 x 16
