Sold the cavalier few weeks back (anfter just shy of 20 years ownership) and had another itch for a vxr8, went to see one locally but it wasn’t the car for me and especially not at the asking price!!!
So… was keeping an eye on the usual places and sure enuff one Monday morning one freshly listed and made some enquires and by 11.00 had a deposit placed
Me and the missus flew to Liverpool this morning, dealer kindly picked us up and after a quick blast all was settled, bit of an animal to be fair… mapped at over 700bhp on 99ron falling back to 651 on 97 grade super with 531lb torque.
36k miles and pretty much immaculate two owner car from 2008, last owner was an Aussie guy settled in the uk did all the tuning work. He traded in for a charged malloo and got chatting to him and reassured me it was a good example.
Missed out on 2 genuine Bathurst S models in recent times but this was tuned and built by walkinshaws who built the original Bathurst S models for Vauxhall anyhow.
Comes with good history and the receipt for charger conversion was over £15k alone
Dublin port tunnel was worth the few euros on the way home that’s for sure
sound of the charger is quite subtle but very addictive
Young fella didn’t know this was in the pipeline or that we were away to collect it today, he was out playing as we landed home and his face was a picture
Def a tighter squeeze in the garage than the Cav was!
