CRX on rolling road

just had the car on the rolling road at cartoyz there today

crx 1.6 vtec
max hp 170
max torque 156Nm!!!
max speed 155mph

mods
exhaust and filter

is this not a massive torque increase over standard

aern't they 150hp standard and 107Nm torque or something?

and just to show it wasn't a fluke it was run twice with 155Nm the other time

Well the very most you can take out of that at least is that your car seems healthy, but those figures seem dubious.

Christopher Take it to Tripple 7 Tomorrow and Tell Sid you got it Rollin Roaded at Car Toys and want to "Cross Examine" it, and He'll Prob do it for Free just to See if theres a difference... Get Cormac to have a word with him 2morrow.

bear in mind that factory quoted figures are based on a one off .. the very most that the factory ever got out of their car. All the others coming off production line will not have the same identical power.

also, engine power goes down with mileage. take in to consideration that your engine is 'run in' then it is unlikely to even meet the quoted factory figures. Tuning mods will help bring those figures back up though. This isn't aimed at you directly though ... it's the same for all cars.

sorry for raining on your parade but go to another dyno and get a comparison done. once you ar happy with the figures then use that dyno to monitor performance upgrades.

u can get 20bhp from exhaust &filter cause my OLD vti was at 777 and put out 174 bhp!!!! go on the vtec!!

power figure is fine i think cos i know of another 2 crx's that have been rolling roaded at both cartoyz and 777 and they all put out 170 wit an exhaust and filter

but its the torque
the other cars mentioned put out between 107-117, not 156!!

who told you the max speed was 155?
seen vtecs before and none of them ever went beyond 135. plus the RR plot sdoesnt tell you the top speed it tells you what speed in gear (usually 4th in normal 5 stabbers) the peaks were taken.

The jap spec engine is close to 170hp standard isnt it? The torque dosent sound right!

yeah most jap crx with exhaust&filter put out between 170 &180 so dont think car toyz r 2 far wrong simon knows his stuff bout hondas !!!!

165.6bhp

bit dissappionted as he said there was bout 8-9hp being wasted on a couple of things

oil needs changed to non fully synthetic (something bout vtecs don't like fully synthetic)
induction kit is cr*p
blowout in exhaust
gear oil needs changed

bring on 175hp wit jus an exhaust and filter!!!

cartoyz do there's in 5th gear and that's how the max speed came about. was reading off the clock but the digital computer system thing said 154mph first time and 155 second time

torque actually turns out to be 116lb/f which is far more likely. 156 happens to be in Nm which i never noticed

mines not a jap spec its a uk car
