Been a while since i put up photo's, so here she is in her current state.

Needless to say i feel sick everytime i look at it due to the colour match of the colour coding.

However it has been 3 or 4 weeks since i polished and waxed the car with megs 3 stage and i still get a decent shine after i wash it:

This pic shows paint swabs(sp) i did from 2 paint suppliers, i stupidly didnt do this before i painted them.
On the left is the "diablo red" i bought from a supplier in derry. I painted everything that colour, fitted them to the car and nearly cried. The next day i went to "o'niells distributors" in Omagh and got a litre of paint from him. His diablo red is shown on the right against my car. As you can see its much better, not perfect, but better. It was also a tiny bit more expensive than the first stuff. I have since painted the back bumper in this colour and i;m ok with it, so ill go ahead and do the front bumper/skirts/rubbing strips/handles/mirrors once i get time.

And i give the engine a wee clean too:

even though it has 113k on it it was nearly this clean when i started! and the previous owners say they've never cleaned it. so i dont understand that.

Next thing is to collect my hdi rims from the sandblasters tomorrow and get them sorted, then repaint the bumpers, then maybe loose the single wiper, then maybe take out the black bumper grill and replace with black mesh... though thats just a thought. I'm also taken by this idea of wet sanding as the car has quite a few stone chips.

@admin, i tried adding some of these pics to my garage but i got some "forbidden error giberish page"

as for the garage, the sites going through some changes at the minute, so not all features are working 100%.

Same bumper.

I remember you saying about the different shades, but that shade the bumpers etc are is tara! I mean its nowhere near diablo red.

Collected the cyclones today:laughing: Ill get up a pic of them soon, in their sandblasted state.

Looks perfect TBH mate, that's just how I would have a 306. GTi bumper, skirts and wheels look awesome when it's clean and sitting at the right height.

Drop me a PM when you're thinking of selling ;)

Looking great Phil, hard to beat Diablo Red. Very similar to my own in a different colour scheme, should maybe see about a few pics some day :grinning:

please tell me its not screwed out?

Why would that matter? Screwing is no different to a remap if it's done properly. If I remap my HDi, will I be getting stick for it?

Thanks lads. And no she's never ever been screwed out.

The only thing i'm for changing about her is the wiper... it just aint good enough for my likings.

Lovely looking 306 you have there PhilG, sitting perfectly too......unlike young Scrobert's........! :p

The 306 is a classic shape which seems to age really well, I actually think they have aged better than the Mk1 Focus.

def a nice 306

screwing certainly isnt the big issure folk make it out to be. seems that the only folk who say anything about it are folk that dont have the option of doing it...

Thanks very much for the comments.

I made the decision not to screw out the pump/turbo when i bought the car last year as the engine seemed just to good for it, I didn't want to screw her out even though the risk of blowing the head or turbo isn't that big. And i have the impression that it would be far more difficult to sell on a 306 that had been tampered with.
To be honest, if i hadda bought a dog of a 306 with a Bosch pump, i probly would've screwed her out no bother.

@Lyons, your on the ball. A vent-less laguna splitter from a 1994-1998 laguna bumper (NOT the 1998-2001 bumper).

Bob's 306 was owned my a guy down the road from me at the time and i just thought that splitter looked totally perfect for the car.

You sir, can fook away off  I agree, the vent-less laguna splitter is very subtle and suits them really well.. just don't think it would survive on my car!
