The stone guards can break behind the discs and grind against them, check that. Has happened to a few of mine

Cheers mate I'll get the wheels off asap and get a look. What is the fix for it if that happens?

A few washers can be used to hold it in place. It's a hub off job to replace unless u want to cut the new guard in half to fit it.

Okay so drove it home there. Noise is bad and seems to coming from front and back but it's hard to tell. it completely stops if I lift the handbrake while driving. Need to get it to someone tomorrow asap

Sounds like the backing plates or pins for the hand brake shoes behind the disc. Hub off job to fix IIRC. It's pretty common.

Will bring it somewhere tomorrow. Hoping this isn't the start of it, got very used to how reliable Honda's are over the years.

New brake shield/stone-guard bought along with the spring kit for the guard from BMW (very reasonably priced). Was at the mechanics the last few days and I dropped the parts down to him today; no lock-nut key in the car!!!!! For feck sake

Key ordered from BMW for a very reasonable £9 lol.

Car has had a new rear brake shield, and was sent up to AI for new discs and pads.

Got it all cleaned up and polished it for the first time today, went out for a few wee snaps!

Cheers

Looking very clean sir, nice job!
Cheers Neil mate. Wheels are letting it down ATM. I'm gonna paint them next month then replace them a bit further down the line.

Few small touches here and there for now then I'll get stuck in property when funds allow!

Do them in a nice grey? Lovely car, I'd have another in no problem.
Was thinking that mate I'm not set on a colour just yet. My last few cars have had grey wheels and they do look class. I loved the colour I did the wheels on the accord

But I do like the look of red cars with nice bright silver wheels so who knows!

Yeah suppose it depends on what look you want to achieve. Red and black is always a winner In my eyes.

You'd need to lower etc to pull it off.

Maybe a nice bright silver as you say would keep it nice and fresh looking.

Will be lowered in time too! Gonna be my first lowered car which I'm a bit worried about as the msport front bumper already loves to catch off kerbs etc
