engine cut-out????

any ideas on why my mates engine keeps cutting out every time the car stops moving??

its a 1.3 endura engined fiesta,

the car will be goin perfect but say u get stopped at traffic lights, the engine will just die with out warning, no spluttering etc just turns off then starts up first time on the key, no delay or anything, really strange! :roll:

I had a similar problem on my clio, cut out at traffic lights etc, but it struggled to start after.

Was the MAP sensor - had gone faulty.

sounds like an idle stability valve is stuck/dead, not sure if fords have em but vag group motors do.

yo lee! fords are the best, just luk at my rocket and u cant talk about anything bad except ur hair!

My car does it the odd time when cold, only started when I put the K&N on. Something to do with brain in car not liking it. I just dip the clutch before it cuts out.

Could be an intake leak, or idle control valve. Possibly a dirty throttle body.
