Money talks, contracts are worthless as has been proven many many times before.Watched something on YouTube about Newey leaving Redbull and if he were to go today Redbull could, if they really wanted to, stop him from working until 2027 as he's under contract to them until then. Most likely would be an enforced 12 months gardening leave unless they let him do less which is highly unlikely (why would they as it would hand an advantage to whatever team he joins?). This means that if he were to leave today he couldn't actually work for anyone until mid 2025 this would be too late for the next Gen of cars as they the design would already be well underway by then. But as we all know things can change quickly in F1 and I'm sure even joining part way though the development of a new concept he would majorly influence it's direction.
They also said he could just retire as he doesn't need the money and he's nothing to prove.
It's going to be interesting to see and his next move could well influence the whole of F1 for a while.
Yeah it was a joke......What, you mean aside from the 4 times red bull have already won there?
I would imagine if Newey was going to Aston, he'd stipulate that Lance has to go.The mans a genius but no genius will make lance stroll a championship contender
The FFS podcast will no doubt have a bit more explanation behind the whole thing.Any one notice on the press release that Eddie Jordan is Adrian Neweys manager!
They talked about it on today's podcast. They're great on the FFS podcast too!
I have a lot of time for EJ given what he's achieved and the amount of connections he has in the sport.
