You went on for ages saying you hated the new ST now u want one? Make your mind up

You said "its pish" and "Been round one over and over again and it just doesnt do it for me, the focus RS will always get my vote over this", "I was in a pickle until i actually went over and had a good look around one. Neighbour of mine has just bought an ST3 which he let me have a good look about it and it just doesnt do it for me in person as the RS did"

So how can you now be thinking about the new ST when the RS will always get your vote? Why bother asking people

Im considering the ST quite a lot more as you can pick them up for around £16500. Its a brand new car. It comes with 3 years warrenty, so it has a lot of advantages over the RS.... Even though I said that before, Whats wrong am i not allowed to change my mind about a car the more i see it? You know things DO grow on people...stop being a nob and Go and eat some pies...

Having sold my escort :grinning:'( )

Im in a position to buy one of the above, just cant decide which...

I would go for the RS, if you buy an ST you might as well give £5000 to charity!! ST will be a nightmare for depreciation, and will soon be owned by loads of chavs, giving it a bad rep!

The RS is the best handling fwd car I've ever driven, my older bro has one and I've used it plenty of times and love it. In the dry it's an awesome machine, and sounds pretty well for a 4 pot. Brakes are great too, only downside is the garish interior.

Here is a pic of my bro's RS, I'm using it today as my car is in the garage: -

Carefully
Was just reading an article in Classic Ford – it talks of Subaru being the new Ford when it comes to performance cars as you can walk into a Scooby dealership with £20k and get a WRX unlike the “half-arsed RS” and you’ll get a superb drivers car. Interesting reading young skimyster…

Too many Subarus around these days, I'd far rather go for an Evo 7 or 8 for similar money.

personally I would have an RS having driven both cars. The RS is a harder car to drive & get the best out of, but when you get it right you will have the broadest smile possible across your face. The ST is like a grown up RS, not just as quick in a straight line, quieter and easier to drive hard, but (even though I toyed with the idea of getting one) it is a bit dull compared to the RS.

Both are quick cars point to point, but I cant help but think the ST would be the easier to live with on a day to day basis, although come track day time I would have the RS every time. horses for courses really. Personally I would take an RS & live with the harsher ride and (although nowhere near as bad as people would have you believe) torquesteer.

R32????? ahahahahhahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahha aaaaaa HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH zzzzzzzzzzz

;)

Oh & the engine in the ST will have issues. EGR valve, ETM, injectors and a few other things, common Volvo T5 problems, and a slight remap from Ford wont fix that.

Honestly Im not 100% sure, my dad is trying to convince me to go for the ST as it has more warrenty, but as said before, i think they will depreciate quite badly and may become quite common.

the RS had some issues when new with suspension & engine electrics, but most should have been sorted under warranty already.

The depreciation of an ST would be a hell of alot more than an RS. RS's are always going to hold their value well, just like the Escort Cosworth

how in the name of goodness do you make so many enemies skiman lol?

Anyway, back to the topic....my dad test drove the Focus ST before he got the WRX last month and he said he was very very impressed. Said the engine note was unreal when giving her a bit, and said she went well also.
