Now that I've a tank of fuel through the car it's about time for a thread to keep track of wee bits and pieces that I do.

Had the itch for one of these for a long time, and glad I've finally got one. Had been to see a few but either suspect past or just not for me, then this one that had been in hursts for a while was reduced to a price where I couldn't say no.

Added bonus that it's a car that was local to me so had seen it about and I know the original owner so know it's been well looked after and not tracked or messed with(yet 😂)

Has taken a few back road blasts to really appreciate what these wee cars are capable of, just so much fun! Can't wait to try it on track, plus euro road trip coming up so will get it round the Ring and up and down an few mountain passes.

Already done the lower torque mount, mirror riser, carbon front flaps and eventuri intake, only other things I want to do is an Akrapovic exhaust if I can find one with discount, and either change the wheels or paint the OEM wheels bronze as black wheels aren't for me. Probably get brake pads, lines and fluid at some point as well.
Suspension wise yes it would look better lower, but it's perfect height for battering over the hills and doing wee jumps lol. Will see how it is on track before I decide on that.

Few photos from a blast out today and other bits and pieces

These are growing on me. They just seem to be the ultimate track and back road toy with so much potential also.

I know it would be much better on track lowered but it would deffo effect it's on road capability. Maybe a set of coilovers so you could drop it for track work but you'd need an alignment after each drop & raise which would very quickly become a pain in the hole.

Lovely car, enjoy it!

Lovely motor and best colour in them imo.

With the amount of rallying you did in the Alfa, I can imagine this is pushed even harder down the road :joy:

Health to enjoy, they just look awesome craic.

Very cool.

I’ve never been in one of these to see what all the fuss is about. Must get a blast in one sometime.

Look forward to hearing all about it. 🙂

Lovely wee pocket rocket! Being a car that has only been on the market a few years, funny you saw one with a suspect past! How does it compare to the list of cars you've experienced to date?

I say suspect, but probably not that bad in the grand scheme of things. It was a low mileage one, just over 3k miles and totally standard. Had a look round and noticed some suspect stone chips in the arches and along front bumper, been through enough gravel traps myself to know what that means lol. Also tyres had been through some serious heat cycles, were nearly blue!
Quick Google of the reg brought it up as Driftworks car which they had used to develop suspension and exhaust and a few track days. Yes I'll be adding bits to this and tracking it, but I'd rather someone else hadn't have done that before me just.

Comparison wise, it's definitely like a newer version of my previous classic Imprezas/Legacy Turbo, but with the size of the Mini GP I had.

It's kinda like me enjoying the 9bhp Monkey bike on the road more than my 200bhp superbike, it's so much more usable day to day.
Can keep the throttle planted a lot more of the time and be confident it won't try and kill you, but still quick enough to have a laugh in.
And bits like brakes and tyres and servicing are so cheap compared to the Alfa, 911s, C63 etc!
Wouldn't be great on fuel but minor criticism that.

Will get a proper test next week as have around 2500 of fun European roads planned to put it through its paces

Aah that's an incredible wee thing. They're supposed to be mighty craic, and as you say a bit like a modern day version of a classic impreza.

Health to enjoy it mate. 👍

Class wee thing.

I like the side skirts on this one. Not a fan of the front and rear splitters though.

Totally agree, I love the wee side skirts and may be something I do. Hate the rear same as you.
But I do like a front splitter. Maybe not that one, but I feel it needs something. The TRD one is nice in that it looks agggresive but may be a bit much, especially the bits that go up the arch a wee bit. Plus I'll no doubt smash it off going over a jump 😂

So just back from a 2500mile, 7 day road trip through Europe. Loved every minute of it and was the perfect car for the job in the end.

As much as the likes of an Elise/Exige would've been perfect on the Ring and the mountain passes, the 2 x 7hr days we done on motorways would've ended in divorce. Also lack of luggage space would've been impossible, was hard enough in the Yaris! Actually saw a guy at the ferry in Rotterdam get out of an S1 Elise and stretch his legs off against the rails 😂

We were restricted with days due to Madonna in London on the first Saturday night, and then a wedding in Scotland the following Saturday so just crammed as much as possible in.

Day 1 was Eurotunnel across and drive to the Ring for a few laps. Great fun and the damp track was actually enjoyable in the GR!

Day 2 quick blast down to Lake Lucerne. Scenery round there is unreal, lucked in with the hotel room also.

Day 3 was mountain pass day and a drive to Annecy in France. Only managed the Furka and Grimsel thsi time due to time constraints, but empty roads and perfect weather meant we could play around on them and go up and down a few times. Stopped off at Lauterbrunnen to see the famous Insta waterfall, nice. Annecy is a great spot also.

Day 4 was a dash up to the Mosel Wine region in Germany for a spot of wine tasting. Found a nice Castle to stay in, lovely area and great wine.

Day 5 the ferry from Amsterdam was cancelled so boked the rotterdam one instead and came home via a stop off in Ghent which was another great wee place.

Day 6 was a stormy drive up the UK through floods. Stopped off at the Motorist in Selby though which is a caffeine and machine type place.

And the next 2 days were spent blocked in Edinburgh at the wedding!

Can't wait to get another one done next year!

That is absolutely class - a dream road trip to places I would certainly go

Annecy is a lovely town - spent a couple of summer holidays there as a teenager!

Absolutely love that wee car mate. Glad you got a proper spirited run in it. Not jealous at all :joy: .. Bet you're having 10x more fun in that than the QV! Apples and oranges really, but I know what I prefer!
