well finally took the plunge, and convinced myself i absolutely needed to spend 200 quid on a PC!!

so hopefully be with me next week some time!!

promised myself i wont be using it until i get my exams over, as they are currently more important (roll on the 11th june!)

ordered the SFX kit and 4" spot pads from autopia.

now looking to get some more polishes etc to get rid of the swirls on my clio!!

here is a list of stuff i am currently using, and any recommendations on stuff to get to use with the PC would be great!

AG SRP
AG UDS
Poorboys SSR1
Nattys Blue
KlearKote Red Moose Glaze

among other things!! so looking to get new polish etc to remove swirls completely, rather than mask them!!

All help appreciated!(y)

well pc and sfx pads, full set of 4" adn 6" is arriving at my house for 130. i know a rotary can be used to get the same results, but this is fool proof, and far less likely to damage paint with the PC!

Ive tried the pc before, its not as fool prrof as you think, its actually quite difficult to get a mirror finish, not impossible obviously but i ended up doing a lot by hand to clean it off.

well figured its worth a try anyway!

the RMS massifff slag if u clean a car and there are swirls at all, so im gonna try and use summit to eliminate them all!! ;p

foolproff i meant its almost impossible to do damage to the paintwork - unlike a rotary.

end of the day if i mess it up then i can wipe down and try again - as you say :grinning:

Incorrect.

I clean my cars with a bucket filled with warm water and washing up liquid (Asda own brand, 49p/500ml) and a 29p Tescos sponge.

No one has every slagged me off because of this. ^o)

Not having a go here before you go off on your rotary rant, but what were you doing to not get "a mirror finish" via pc - throwing it at the car ? :p

Im not sure to be honest, I only borrowed Marc's pc once before going rotary.
As for rant, :grinning: everyone has different ways of washing/cleaning their car with variable amounts of anal detail. I use one bucket of water with meguiars shampoo, hose it down, chamois dry and occasionally give some of the panels a quick polish. I need to take a few hours some time soon as the leon might be going in favour of 4wd (ive been saying this for about a year though!)

Sounds interesting... whats next? :p

This is true, yet the whole rotary/pc debate always happens on here. I'm sure anyone with half a wit who owns a pc will tell you that it's not the best thing in the world, yeah it gets the job done (eventually) with minimal damage than someone going straight in with a rotary and no notion. I've had the pc for quite a while and i still don't regret buying it despite knowing its faults, but I will invest in a makita sometime in the near future (y)

Rossei, you will be grand with the pc, it will prob take a few goes before you get it 100% right. Have a look at the menzerna range (in round bottles) www.cleanyourcar.co.uk or www.polishedbliss.com

cheers mate, will try and get a trailer to come collect it...mayb next week could pick it up!!

thanks Ruth, any of the polishes you recommend??

It is a good way to get into machine polishing, and i am perfectly aware it take more work than a rotary, but everyone has to start somewhere!
