Havnt been on RMS in awhile. This is my is200 sport I bought nearly 3 years ago.

Was meant to keep this car standard and just enjoy it 😑 3 months into ownership, I bought a bn sports kit, wheels and coil overs.

Last year I took it of the road for a quick colour change, 1 year on it got a bit of a bay tuck and 90% strip down and underneath painted (still not finished)

This was my first car I painted and was only done 7 months ago, didn't have a clue how to paint, just lots of youtubing and help from a friend who had more understanding than me at the the time.

More has been to the car so need to put a spec list up at some stage.

Will update every week r two as havnt been on car forum's in a few years.

No mate sold the v8 at the start of the year, was having problems with the ecu and just got fed up to be honest. 1j will be going in next year once I get the hgv licence

A 1J will be the job of it. It’s not the only Jay Zee conversion we have on an IS here.

Bloody hell you are a brave man sir! I know we fire on YouTube to learn something but usually it's just on how to remove a piece of trim or how to make a loaf of bread lol. Fair play to you. Will watch with interest 🤓

Thanks for all the kind words. Ecu capacitors were faulty, had the car driving and idling with the 1uz but kind of lost heart in it all after months of working on it. Will put some pictures of the conversion next week.

YouTube has learnt me nearly everything I know about painting, don't know everything r all the tricks in the trade but I've kind of made a business out of it and happy with it.

Not everyone likes the is200 as I think they have got the sierra/ae86 scene of going round cones. I will admit that's wer I started then started drifting, cheap and cheerful with out the ae86 price tag 😜.

Hope this one has a better ending than the tool in Portstewart on Sunday evening, who hit another car head on.

Two ambulances, two fire engines and numerous police just because he couldn’t even drive it in a 30mph zone!

Good thing he’s on RMS where we don’t judge a book by its cover eh! Even if its yellow!

Turining into an awesome project @Jamiemgzr - I presume like all the late 90s era Jap stuff it’s getting harder to get tuning parts? Or should I say more expensive!

Excellent.

I appreciate the white bonnet against the yellow.
Long term is it going to be a fast street car or do you plan to track/drift it?

What an odd thing to say. I don't think OP is accountable for all IS200 owners...

I think the bonnet being white was a possible test fit to make sure it all lined up before paint. As the last couple of pictures its painted but not just on the car.

Im a big fan of the kit and wheels you have made a fair amount of progress.

Excellent.

Wouldnt be keen on the white bonnet just, but the rest is great for having done it yourself.
Was fitting the areo catch’s that why the bonnet was still white. Painted now tho

Didn't hear about it myself, hopefully everyone is okay. This will still see the track for some sliding so will be used a abused

Thanks Cooper, yea prices have gone mad the past 2 to 3 years now. Kind if ruined the fun in these cars. Was planning a 1jz conversion next year but prices have hit the roof, parts for these cars have also. People thinking the stuff is made out of gold now which they arent. But if people pay the money then it will continue unfortunately.
Excellent.

Bonnet now yellow was just test fitting etc then. Its my daily road car/drift missile at the track, only stock engine at the moment but hoping 1j/2j turbo next year if i find a engine at decent money. Its a car that will never be perfect/finished i like to keep doing things and upgrading.

They have a bad rep 😂 not going to say i havnt done a junction in my time but some people do give them a bad rep lol.

Thanks bud appreciate it, not everyone is a fan of jap kits, but its what im into and watching drift cars on tv its something ive always wanted to do, be different in a way. Yea nearly two years of the road now, owned it from 2018 standard is200 sport. Was meant to be my daily/stay standard dont modify it 😂. Girlfriend just shakes the head everytime i come out with things like that😂.

Bit of a update

Been enjoying the car the past 2 months and taking it to tracks etc, has been missing on cylinder 6 quite alot lately when round track but its only a N/A 6 cylinder.

New Altezza grill fitted and new badge, wanted a genuine grill

Made a vist to Jonny Irwin, genuine fella and knows his stuff, lifted a v8 3uz 4.3 from him as 1j/2j prices are out of my price range, partner would kill me paying 6k for a 2j 😂.

Will be converting round February/march time all being well.

Exhaust update this weekend also as it keeps blowing gaskets

Been a while from a update, been enjoying the car the past few months at the track more than the road. Finely got stuck into the conversion and hit Jonny Irwin with a conversion kit. Car will be getting another fresh lick of paint at the end of the year as it has got a few battle scars

The Altezza grill really makes that, you wouldnt think something so small could make such a drastic change. Good luck with the swap! Staying NA or FI?
