How come?

Several different issues. Latest being the car was left off on Wednesday at 7.45am and we didn’t get it back until lunch time today. They didn’t even look at it until about 4 and couldn’t work out what was wrong until Thursday so waste of a day.

Needed a drop link.

You didnt ask me but I'll share my experience :
- arrogant sales staff. I had the firm expression from them that I should consider it a privilege to buy from Agnews.
- back in 2016, service manager was dreadful. He didn't return calls or take any useful action to resolve problems with a car still under warranty. Then when I called and asked to speak to him the receptionist asked "is he expecting your call?" and telling me that I need to make an appointment to talk to him.
-days later after no progress I asked to speak to the after sales director and same response. It was no surprise to find out the after sales director was the older brother of service manager. I wont mention names but plenty members here will know them. Doubt very much he was promoted on merit.
- unable to solve terrible wind noise coming from front windows. Replaced deals which didnt need replacing, generally fkd about and send me a nice video of my car. In the end I gave up and went to Portadown who fitted acoustic glass free of charge under a technical service bulletin.
- for a long time their reviews on google were among the lowest of all UK MB dealerships - it was low 3.x. It looks like they have been recently trying to boost them by asking their new car customers to leave 5 stars. Just wait until they need a warranty repair and a call back from the service manager.

About a year ago I went in to buy a couple of small parts and I pulled up in the R8. Before I could enter the showroom there was a salesman and one of those subject matter genius's or whatever they call them out and all chummy. And I thought 'you shallow ****s', only now have you started to give a ***k"

The other reason not to go back to the main dealer is the cost for a non warranty repair or diagnosis. This is not unique to Belfast or even MB, it's pretty much the norm for premium brand cars.
