Another parcel from Stillstatic landed this week.

Mk6 mats and short drop links.

Had these in the Mk7 and I loved them. Complete frivolous item but I like them.

Here’s the new H&R short drop links with an OEM replacement to compare.
The shortest setting is ridiculously small but the suspension will have to be preloaded to see which one suits suits the best.

Nice to see another ED35 on here! I think I've only seen one other in NI and I've had mine over 3 years now. Will be nice to see how you progress the car, mine is completely stock.

Which MK7 did you come from? The potential of the EA113 with K04 is pretty remarkable which is why they are very favoured by people who are looking to tune. @Graham will tell you more.

Health to enjoy!

Cheers, same as. I’ve only seen one locally also.

I had a GTI and a R mk7. I’m looking foreard

Update from camp stupidity

From the last post the car was left off to Blackline Performance for suspension tweaks, install the front roll bar and an alignment.

The car is also left off to paint

Picked up a Milltek 3” catback.
Took it home; stripped it.
New exhaust gasket, getting a local engineering firm to make me a new pipe deleting the mid box, got the black tips and currently polishing them, not a fan of black tips.

With the news of Players Classic at Goodwood opening up again the rush is now on for June.

Quick update

Got the car back last night and took a few pics when I got home.
Better ones to follow.

Very impressed with the quality of the work done and over the moon to get the car back.

Entire car painted bar the boot lid with a few custom touches done. Will go into more detail in time.

Got my magna plates kit fired on the front and rear.

Ran into an issue with the xenon levelling sensor to the rear. Replaced it and it didn’t help. After further investigation it turns out the wire got crushed between the control arm and chassis. Caleb mending the wire and it was relocated to a better route.
VW didn’t account for idiots with the original location.

Fog lights were uninstalled with VCDS to loose the error code.

The fog deletes are one of my favourite mods thus far.

Milltek was installed, a reducer was made to make it fit. Other than that it was straight forward. Props to Caleb again.

Next step is a full paint correction and ceramic coating, just leaving it a month to ensure the paint is properly gassed.

Few bits done since the last post

Took the car for a drive locally in the wet and blew the passenger drive shaft.
Had a few good friends at hand to replace it then get me home.

Ordered a shortened one from Si at stillstatic.

Got it installed and any binding from the original one is gone.
Finally have the confidence back in the car.
Popped up to belfast for a GTNI meet at sprucefield where I met other people out for milk as well.

Hello there, potential long one.

Got my Speedlines refinished in time for Players through Propowdercoating

156953E0-C793-4BFB-9130-D0DC66FFBBE4.jpeg

Next was to try and make them fit the car.

Got rear camber arms from Intermotive. With a touch of camber they now rotate without fouling the body. (-6.3)

Callum helped me do a two stage paint correction on the car followed by two coats each of a carbon collective ceramic coatings.

Gavin in Blackline Performance squeezed me in for an alignment a few days
I was to set off for England thankfully.

One very early start and we ended up at the front of the freight deck. Sweet talking helps.

Stopped in at Caffeine and Machine on the way to have lunch. Was one of the highlights of the trip for me. I’ve wanted to go for a very long time.

Landed at the B&B around 12, if a road was closed in England we found it. On the road from 4am that morning.

First day of Players was mental, I’ve never seen anything like that before so it was an eye opener.

Second day you got to park on the track.
Got talking to a few static boys from England, always nice putting a face to the name.

Really enjoyed my time at Goodwood and I’ll be looking forward to hopefully going back some day.
Can’t fault the car, few inch off the ground and it never missed a beat.

Cheers to Ross Delaney being tortured the entire weekend to take pictures of my car.

That’s an epic photo on the start/finish line. Goodwood is just one of those places it gives you goosebumps just thinking about. And a road trip. And C&M that I’ve yet to visit but seems such a destination. Fantastic.

Nice adventuring there. Is the plate stick on or held by magnet?

Would also love a run to Caffeine&Machine sometime.

Cheers Cooper, Couldnt believe I got there eventually, was a real bucketlist item.
Real nice vibe at the place, everyone was friendly and the sun was shining for most part of the weekend.

Both front and back is on with magnets from Magnaplates.
Hard to get the rear staright at times..
Makes you want to plan a road trip!

What distance did you cover?

Ill definetly be going main land again, was stressful the first time just seeing how the car dealt with boats etc.

Around 1000 miles round trip.

Did you get the ARB's in?

Those fog deletes are superb up front, really freshen it up.

Great to see a MK6 GTI getting modified too, let alone an Edition 35. Rare car by comparison to all other Golf models.
