I have a 2014 Passat 2.0tdi. If I slowly brake the pedal nearly goes to floor. But if I brake to stop straight away it does it. No leaks and has compression. Anyone ever experienced this and know how to fix?
Diesel tend to do this under light pressure but if it is doing this under normal braking pressure it could potentially be a failing master cylinder. If it is it will be leaking into the servo and won't be noticeable until the servo is filled to the level of the master cylinder. Is there any loss of fluid?
Doesn’t seem to be at the minute. Levels seem dead on. If you brake to stop it’s fine. If you can see traffic slowing and gradually braking it near goes to floor but does stop
There's probably an acceptable time for it to go to the floor under light pressure but any more than 4 to 5 secs in my opinion would be too much. Might be worth even splitting the master from the servo and check for fluid leak, you should hopefully get enough movement without removing brake pipes
