Anyone have any experience with this?

The passenger front door is not unlocking with the rest of the doors via key button (central locking) it will unlock from the inside when the handle is pulled.

The car is an 09 Seat Leon, unfortunately a few months out of warranty.

The wee bar that connects the lock to the solenoid could well be off.

Remove the door card and have a look. They are held in place by a small plastic clip and these can become brittle and break or just simply come undone.

The vag range are renowned for this, they have little micro switches in the lock mechanism that are prone to failing. It's not just as simple as replacing them as believe it or not they need reprogramming after fitting! Best thing to do is to go to a vag specialist who has a diagnostic computer

Bit of a bump here, this problem seemed to rectify itself for a short while but now its back with a vengeance, for the most part we cant even open door from the inside, never mind the out side. Anyone know of a Vag specialist in the portadown lurgan area that might be able to help.....or has anyone had a similar problem recently that could give some advice. I see some threads on Seat forums but I wouldn't be up to the task of fixing it myself...

Thanks

The actuator went on the passenger door of my Z3...when the door was closed...and locked...and theres no key lock on the passenger door :worried: With a lot of awkwardness I got the door panel removed with the door closed then the garage had to remove the lock mechanism with about 1/2 hr of brute force with a hammer etc...fortunately all damage was to the lock mechansim which was being replaced...decided not to put a new actuator on again as its a common failure on E36s and dont want the same hassle further down the line :grinning: Now I just lock the passenger door manually but its very rarely used anyway

Not too bad on a Z3 @marcusplowman which I presume is used for pleasure use? But it's a pain in the backside for the wife getting the kids in and out at this stage.

Managed to get it to open from the inside again so taking it to a mechanic to strip the door tonight, looks like a new door lock mechanism @ £120....

Seems to be a very common fault across the VAG range as he has already done a few passats and has a TT wanting the same thing changed...

Yeah the Z3 only covers about 500 miles a year...most of that with just me in it  My new mechanism was £88 plus fitting and that was without the actuator which was around the same price
