Have a vauxhall which is currently pink but should be red, does anyone know of a good product to restore it, would the orginal t-cut work? and then a good polish after that?

A good compound then a finer polish after that, tcut isnt the best out thereby a mile

Recently Ive been using AG paint restorer, basically because I found it and forgot I had it lol, but it seems to work a treat

Vauxhalls are a gift to restore colour on

Ill wait for someone better informed to comment mate but in my experience it doesnt take much work to lift flame red back up to how it should be, no harm in giving it a try on a wee corner of a pannel and see how you get on

yes
Youve asked a question
Got a reply.
Then asked the same original question cause you didnt like the reply and clearly wont go and buy the suggested product.
Are you retarded?

if you are wanting someone to say yes to tcut and SR will work then Ill say yes it will work and will be a great job

To be fair mate I cant answer that tcut will work, nor what i suggested is the best for the job, just something I found worked

Best bet is give it a try on a wee bit of the car, wont do any harm!

As Razor says T-cut will work fine, just takes abit of effort !

I used T cut to get a faded red VW back to red, took ages, then put a couple of coats of wax on and six months later it's still red.
There are probably better products out there but it worked ok for me.

The BX was so far gone it was covered in a hard white layer.

A cheap silverline polisher,a drill and pads for the tricky bits and that g3 stuff and it's coming up like new.

t cut like any polish will have a certain amount of cut , the more cut the less effort the harder the pad the more cut . its all about what you think is working providing you have a good eye for the results achieved ... ive used all different compunds and i know what works on most paints but still get one every now and again that trys me .. vauxhall paint if older is a piece of piss to sort tho but with tcut will just take longer ... hope this is a sensible answer ..but as always if unsure dont try .. worst thing is trying to correct someone elses mess

Vauxhall paints can be a bit of a nightmare with oxidation or fading. Its not overly a big job to sort out, just requires a machine polisher to make life easier and the correct pads. Ive done a few corsas in my time, the finished results are always outstanding. But it is important to make sure that the right level of protection is applied to stop it fading again.
Heres a picture of a blue corsa which has some faded paint. 50/50 shot.
